This is my least fave season but they are some gems still in it. See ya in a couple months I’m gonna re subscribe after your done. Episode 3 intro does change and will be like that for the rest of the show

You've done well to take note of the fact that there are the Legendary Six, the Mane Six, and now the Student Six. As others have noted, the next episode is where you want to watch the intro, as there is finally a large change. So we get Twilight now opening up a school to teach friendship to creatures besides just ponies. But she never would have been able to do that without first spreading friendship to those kingdoms in the first place. Pinkie and Rainbow Dash brought friendship to the Griffon Kingdom through Gilda. Pinkie brought friendship to Yakyakistan through Prince Rutherford. Twilight, Rarity, and Spike brought it to the Dragon Lands through Ember. Spike, Discord, Trixie, and Starlight brought it to the Changeling Kingdom through Thorax, and the entire Mane Six (but mostly Pinkie) brought it to Mount Aris and the hippogriffs in the 2017 movie. So in that sense, the 'Overall Story' you've been looking for has been happening in the background this whole time, as without these critical friendships, the school would not be possible, and many of these species would still be aggressive towards ponies. I have to say that Yona might be my favorite of the Student Six. I do like all the others, but she stands out a bit more for me. Anyway, on to the next one!

Just a FYI ViewMaster, There is an MLP Christmas Special called "Best Gift Ever" that is to be viewed after Season 8 and before 9, I'm bringing this up because Netflix announced they're removing this special as of December 31, so if you use Netflix as your platform/or use your computer to view your episodes, you may want to download the special from the platform before they remove it.

I was gonna say maybe best on or around December(heck even next December) but something happens in season 8 you can’t do it before it. But it’s does nothing for the main story with the show but it’s a really good holiday movie so I think he should do it around the time of the movie

Well all I'm saying is if View uses his computer to watch the episodes on Netflix, he can download the special into his library, so even when they remove it from their catalog he can still have it available to him to watch it when he's done Season 8.
