I love this episode sm it really shows the sister relationship that celstia and luna have and it's amazing and I wish they did it more

I'm sure there are spells for pretty much anything imaginable in MLP, it makes sense really because it's magic, and to create a spell just requires a thought process and the magic to make anything you want happen, for the most part anyway. And as Twilight and Starlight have magic related cutie marks you can't be that surprised to find out they can cast most magic easily. And yes the spell itself seems to be displaying consciousness onto an object while the caster is still in one place, so not really teleportation per say. Regarding Starlight switching cutie marks, if you remember back in season 5 Starlight Glimmer used to be the Villain controlling "Our Town" and the whole aspect of it was to remove cutie marks from others, including princess Twilight Sparkle, so we already know she can do cutie mark magic like she did. Also, Celestia and Luna actually have conflicting schedules, Luna sleeps during the day and Celestia at night, so they can't have much time together. The only time we see them present together is during some court hearings or special events, but even then Luna is absent at times such as the marriage of Cadence and Shining Armor, so we can assume that she can wake up and be present whenever she wants, or just choose to sleep instead. Anyway, the whole point of sleep is to relax the brain, and that can't happen if Celestia helps Luna while she's sleeping.

FIrst of I think you should watch the bronies react to this it’s pretty funny and you see their Sid of this and the bonus is good too. Ok phew I got a long one for ya I think I’m typing these of the top of my head so I might miss something. (1) twilight is fking hilarious in this episode I love that she’s controlling in a meddling way but couldn’t help cuz the map didn’t let her. That last scene with twilight has me dying on the floor when I first saw it. Same for starlight they are both great and since starlight goes with her gut she can do crazier stuff and more risky then twilight since twilight is so stuck up all the time. Her switching their cutie marks make perfect sense if you think back to when she used a power full spell to replace ponies cutie marks. (2)One thing that’s very important that you kinda said. Their are like 5 or less just absolutely OP characters in this show. The princess are one of them they just do nothing. #1 is discord. You saying discord isn’t all that cuz he lost to the mane 6 is so incredibly wrong. #2 is starlight. I think you missed something in one of the finales with sunburst (starlights childhood friend). Sunburst can intake a lot of knowledge and is very smart but can’t easily do it. While starlight can also intake a lot of knowledge yet she can do something just reading it once and is very direct. She’s fricking altered one of the greatest wizards spell and made it better and time traveled. #3 twilight is she was more direct like starlight she easily better but she’s too anxious all the time. So starlight and twilight easily doing spells like projecting her self as a ballerina toy miles away and switching cutie marks isn’t that hard to get. (3) both of the princess jobs are pretty difficult kinda showing while their not around all the time their running a country and barely getting by without killing each other but I would say lunas job is harder and more important. While celestia has more stuff on her list it doesn’t matter as much cuz oh boo hoo the kids missed they field trip and theirs timber wolfs. Just give them another field trip and timber wolfs arnt hard to get rid of. While Luna has to stay up at night alone while monitoring people dreams. You might have missed it but if some has a nightmare Luna has to fix it or it will damage they psyche in the real world. While it means nothing while your dreaming and you can’t get hurt while dreaming you could see starlight questioning what she did saying she shouldn’t have gone with her gut and that she never will again cuz she thought she just made the princess turn into their ultimate bitch forms. That would have fked up her mind makeing her decisions as bad as twilight if not worse. Also lunas nightmare was actually scary I can’t handle teeth falling out it’s the worst thing. I’m sure I missed something but I’ve talked long enough. Thanks for reading if you made it through this mess 👍

Frost Mane summed up most of your questions nicely. We've literally seen both Twilight and Starlight gain new magic throughout the seasons. It's not like they've stopped studying, plus they have Sunburst now, who deeply understands how all the magic works. Their magical prowess is growing at a faster rate. Not to mention that you have to remember that Twilight as an alicorn couldn't defeat Starlight as a unicorn. That's some next level raw magical ability. They also mention the "stakes" of Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon being in Starlight's dream. Princess Luna says that if they can't get the dream under control, it would destroy Starlight's psyche. So yeah... permanent psychological scarring on one of the world's most powerful magical creatures is pretty big stakes indeed.

I'm 100% sure in one of the episodes I have seen Twilight projecting her image in a book and moving tn it.(or was it Discord who did it?) Only I can never remember in which episode it was. :( I think it was an earlier one, but I can be very wrong? What I mean is: the music box projection is not new to the show. I really really want to remember in which episode it was. It was really really briefly then tho. PS: Also this sibling episode is kinda the perfect thing for double sibling thing. Ya. for double even triple sibling things!

Discord projects himself on a glass window in the season 2 premier. And twilight is in a book in season 5 “amending fences” but I’m pretty sure that was a different spell for both of them. Twilight couldn’t really movie as the ballerina she can only turn but she was free in the book like she was actually there

Since very early in the series, the fandom was hoping for a Royal Sisters episode, and I think they knocked it out of the park, building up a natural conflict, and then giving a great moment of sisterly catharsis. Starlight is a great choice here, because Twilight is too close to the Princesses to look at the situation from an unbiased perspective, plus Starlight is the one reckless enough with magic to do such a dangerous experiment. The rules of magic are pretty vaguely defined at the best of times, and especially in these last three seasons the writers are increasingly willing pull random abilities out of nowhere. You could say the object-possession spell (and that's what it seems like to me) is similar to whatever she was using to animate herself in a book in the S5 episode "Amending Fences". Screwing with Cutie Marks is at least something we've seen in Starlight's repertoire. It was cool to see a dark version of Celestia; it's something the fandom theorized for a long time. Daybreaker seems to be who Celestia would become if she stopped caring about serving her subjects and thinking about the consequences of her actions, instead simply indulging her every whim. You can tell Nicole Oliver had a blast with the voice work.
