The Richard Hatch listed in the credits is not the winner of the 1st season of Survivor, he is the actor playing Tom Zarek. In the original Battlestar Galactica (single-season that aired in 1978), he played Captain Apollo. In the time since the original show was cancelled, he wrote a series of novels set in the Battlestar Galactica universe, and tried to get Universal to continue the show. Universal opted for a reboot (this) instead of a continuation, and despite his disappointment he was invited to be a part of it (as Tom Zarek).
