Did you notice Flash Sentry? He was the non-glowing escort of Cadence. . I love that Discord can't really handle Pinkie Pie. . Many references in Discord's song-- Harry Potter, Ricola, Star Wars, Flashdance, Pinnochio, Aladdin, and probably more. . Yes. Travel Discord is referencing "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." . When Discord was doing his little dance, he slid in, referencing "Risky Business."

Finally starting to catch up on reactions after Thanksgiving. Any episode with Discord tends to be great, and I love seeing Cadance as well. I believe Discord to be a being that is trying to work within a very strict set of constraints. As a being of pure chaos and disorder, acting constructively is contrary to his very nature. Thus, he must take very indirect methods to achieve his goals.

"Why is Discord doing this?" The answer to that, about 9 times out of 10 is "For the lulz' He is a massive troll. The creature at the end is a tatzelwurm, a creature from central/eastern European folklore, said to breath out horrifically toxic poison, shown here by being able to make Discord sick. This also led to the creation of Tatzelponies, because of course it did, and of course this fandom can make even that adorable. Tatzeljack was fairly prominent for a good amount of time but eventually Timberjack became the go to 'monster' version of AJ. As to references.... too many to even start, the song number may be the most reference heavy scene in the entire series, but a rather fun one you missed after that, the throne he was being carried on is King Xerxes throne from 300.
