I've been working on this ribcage on and off for about 3 weeks now and I am LOVING how it's turning out. I took a lot of inspiration from Viscous Frockery's ribcage builds but made my own edits.

The base is 12 and 14 gauge steel wire (thicker for the outline) formed to fit the ribcage I drew on my dress form. Fun fact, it has the anatomically accurate number of connected ribs; no floating ribs unless you count the ties I'll be adding to the back XD.

You can use quilt batting or fleece for the first wrapped layer to pad out the wire but I have a 100 yard roll of 18" white tulle in my stash so I just used that and it worked really well to add a layer I can sew to without adding much bulk.

The last layer is an ivory 1.5 inch cotton/poly lace that I again, have a ton of in my stash so it became the outer layer, wrapping the same way as the tulle only I was more careful about direction, start and edlnd points, and I stitched down the ends to really secure everything. I wasn't expecting to LOVE the texture the lace added so much but, it kinda gives a weathered look without having to do anything.

I still have half of the cage to cover and a bunch of red, bloody details to add but, thought I could show y'all how I made this in case you wanna make one for yourself this spooky season.

Btw, It took me about 10 hours to get to this point ^.^
