FINDING SOBRIETY - DAY 36 || I CHEATED

Nothing disastrous. But I did cheat for a day. Actually, things are still getting much better.

So congrats on surviving, sounds like you are becoming more of a healthy bird. Being hungry means your body is learning to use food and crave it for nurishment. Sleeping helps your body repair itself and between 6and 8 hours is good. You are awesome and amazing, just remember how good it feels to be sober when it gets harder. Maybe taking half shots when you get down to 2 so they can be spaced out? Hugs. So so happy to see and hear how much better you are doing.

Glad you're doing well. But your 'social drinking' still has me concerned. By your own words you plan to keep drinking in social situations, even though those situations cause you to drink the most by far. I really hope you come to realize how bad of an idea it actually is to keep drinking anything at all. Also your reaction to your own cheating is worrying. A while ago you were almost in tears because you accidentally took an extra shot and you couldn't stop saying sorry to all of us for breaking your promise. Now you're happily drinking with friends for an entire night, drinking much more than just that one shot and here you are with an 'oh well, shit happens' attitude. Big difference in attitude there. You know my opinion about continuing to drink after you've quit, but that's AFTER you quit. Now you're doing it WHILE you're quiting and that's just a big no no. Thanks for being honest about it, but please don't play it off like it was nothing. Because it wasn't nothing. You know it, and we know it. Give it some thought, mate. And good luck.

2: I support you. Watching you quit drinking is helping me deal with some pretty heavy issues of my own. I can't say I know how you feel, but I can sympathise. On your 'cheat day', if you go into it with open eyes, and only drink as much as you feel comfortable doing, then I think the odd cheat day once every few weeks/months is mentally healthy. Just promise that it will be like this time, where you remain in control. Thankyou for being a beacon in the night for me. ~Jaffer Roshak
