For context, the duo name for ricky and hao is hariboz, which is why them not knowing haribo was so funny Also hao knows every single kpop choreo ever I swear Yujin is SO baby. Like the parasocial parenthood I feel over this kid is insane

Hi PD and Blair!! I recommend watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQXKrL_da54 (first Taerae show!) before the next ZB1 Folder. There isn't much info on the schedule for these or the actual direction they want to take with them. I love the boys so much, so I'm crossing my fingers for a more established original variety!! Also if you are looking for more ZB1 content, they did 2 special episodes (of 2 parts each) titled Amazing Saturday Preparation before their appearance on the show. Seconding this! The first Taerae Show from KCON Japan would make a perfect prelude to ZB1 Folder Ep 2 which is another Taerae Show but in KCON LA.

additionally they released a bonus episode of idol human theater that's about 22 minutes! It's pretty much another episode and I must say it was just as hilarious as the official one!

"casually flamboyant" is such a good descriptor for taerae... on one hand he's just Some Dude with his diamond tier in valorant, can't even cook ramen, dresses (relatively) badly - but he's also such an amazing singer, passive aggressive and very feminine. There's a reason why him, woongki and seowon were considered a trio during bp!! The next episode is Taerae show in LA, but there's also an episode of Taerae show in Japan before that that you should definitely check out together with it as well <3

The feeling i get while watching them is more like seeing both a group of really close friends and a group of influencers/content creators rather then idols. I have that same feeling with Stray Kids and Ateez as well (they like both groups so i can see where they got their behaviour from)

I think one of the things I like the most about them is how "authentic" they seem; Aside from ZB1 most of the groups I follow are older, so this may just reflect a general shift in the industry, but I feel like rather than always "presenting" themselves and being very media-trained, ZB1 seems unique in their unfiltered-ness. Like, Hanbin having to stop Gyuvin from hitting Ricky with a stool on Weekly Idol, Yujin's obvious dislike of being the cute one, Taerae being SO SASSY, and literally everything that comes out of Matthew's mouth all seem so genuine. Also, In addition to the ZB1 variety content I've seen requested above, Jiwoong and Gunwook were also on an episode of Knowing Bros along with Kep1er's Chaehyun and Xiaoting and VIVIZ's Yerin.

Thanks to the reaction!! It's been a while since I saw ZB1 folders but I still enjoy a lot! PD you definitely need to check out knowing bros, Gunwook's rap was insane(he wrote the lyrics in 20 mins which is crazy), I'm sure that you'll enjoy it a lot!

Oh yeah, Jiwoong and Gunwook were on two parts of Knowing Bros and that was a pretty fun time! Chaehyun and Xiaoting from Kep1er were also there :) Just saw it recommended here and I have to second it

Its interesting that you think now that Hanbin would be the best leader for the group, but watching Boys Planet you were positive Hao would be the best leader. I would have thought they would have the whole co-leader thing going on just like in kep1er

Hao seemed like the best on BP but this is the weird thing I see now: Something I’ve talked about is there are two leader types: a normal leader and a wartime leader. A normal leader is just classic democratic leadership traits. Hearing everyone out, putting things to votes, etc. A wartime leader is basically when shit is stacked against you and you have no choice but to sacrifice having sleep for like 2-3 months. A wartime leader is someone who can lead people through the worst of it without their own mentality breaking. I see that Hao is now actually a wartime leader. It’s probably a mix of his IQ, his background, maybe even his nationality, and personality that makes him uniquely fitting for the job. He kept his cool like 99% of the time on BP and always whipped his team into shape. He also doesn’t mince words too much. Hanbin seems like the perfect leader if the group is happy. Given what I saw on BP, I think Hanbin is very empathetic and also has his own peaks and valleys that follow the group. So on BP, with the context and looming threat of elimination on the show, I think Hao led them best. Hanbin is better during promotional era I think.

I don't think someone said that before on here, but zerobaseone themselves actually like to remind us a lot that their contract is set to end at a specific time. They'd post something on twitter and then add at the end of the caption "let's cherish those 2years, 10months, 23 days, 8hours, 41 minutes and 5 seconds left together !". It's so bittersweet to stan and really be into a group when you know that they're not meant for the longevity aspect, but as they know it too, they want to make the best out of this period and i think that's where their authenticity comes from. I've been brainwashed into being reminded that they're a temporary group EVERYTIME I'd watch something from them or just listen to their music and then I'd get emotional, this is insane
