While Boys Planet was airing, a lot of Hanbin's dance videos actually surfaced on the internet. If you have the time, you should watch them! Comparing Hanbin's dance now to his older dance videos, it's clear that he hasn't shown all of his skills yet, as if he's still holding back. I believe it's because he has to maintain his current image as an idol which is very different to his previous image as a dancer. I hope he's given more opportunities to showcase his abilities, and his INVU stage was a big step in that direction.

Please check out Hanbin's predebut dance fancams. He's really an insanely good dancer. You'll get to see another side of him and I think appreciate him even more. Here are a few that I think are must watch: Call Me mother Naughty Girl Unholy Peppermint Chun-Li + Apeshit But of course, there are literally dozens and dozens of them (pretty sure over a hundred) Seriously, you won't regret it.

aaaa finally! this one is so fun! hanbin is really really an amazing dancer! you should check his old stuff, he dance to every genre and slay them all, and personally wish he will be able to show it off more. and also if you watch amazing saturday YOU WILL SEE how crazy talented he is as dancer. and yeah definitely agree that he is the image of a perfect idol. he can do everything, every range, beyond every expectation.

Weekly Idol has been great for a while with them changing the hosts to actually seasoned idols, it’s way more fun and sometimes they share stories with each other (Eunhyuk from SuJu and Kwanghee have also been hosts) and not to add to PD’s workload but the NCT Dream episodes of Weekly Idol are amazing, they go crazy during the wish segment, especially Jaemin.

Right ? I've always loved Mijoo and Eunkwang for their personalities and I just think that the producer did an amazing job with the pairing. I don't know much about their dynamic prior to the show but they're amazing together

I stopped watching weekly idol for a while too because of doni and coni and started watching again once Eunhyuk and Kwanghee became hosts, I thought they were doing an amazing job but nothing could've prepared me for Mijoo and Eunkwang. They are the type of idols who are not afraid to say what's on their mind and they kinda "ruin" their image for the sake of the show, they're fun, and you can tell that the guests feel comfortable around them. Also, they cut out a big chunk of hanbin's dancing segment but the full cam is available on youtube

Jangjun seems to be very well liked by the Weekly Idol PDs since even before Eunkwang because they used to call him frequently to also fill in for Suju Eunhyuk when he couldn't be there. Also confused with the "weekly idol is now awesome" since this weekly idol format has been the same for some years, the wish segment is not new it was there even with the previous hosts that you did not enjoy that much, same with flow of the segments. The script can still be hit or miss, I much prefer Jangjun's hosting on his past varieties like Idol Olympics (a copy of Weekly Idol lol) or SSAP Possible. What makes this show enjoyable currently is only when the guest group has good chemistry and has good stories to tell. Zerobaseone had all that so that's why this episode was really good.

Watching this makes me so excited for your amazing saturday reaction, hanbin really got to showcase his dancing there! One thing I find really cool about hanbin is how versatile he is as a dancer, he came from a waacking/tutting background but he also excels in other dance styles. 2023-09-27 20:09:22 Just adding more info as to just how crazy it is that Zhang Hao chose to be an idol with all his prospects, the exam they mentioned that he ranked #1 out of 40M people in Fujian was for the nationwide college exams for arts and he only learned the violin for around a year when he took that musical/arts exam because he was actually a science stream honor student in HS and qualified to be a geoscience major at China University of Geosciences (5th best Geoscience uni in the world) but realized he didn't like it and wanted to learn the violin instead (his only prior violin experience was learning it for 3 months when he was younger). So he had to retake the college exams the next year and ended up ranking 1st in the arts exam after just learning the violin in less than a year. Then he got into kpop, learned to dance during uni, Yuehua chased after him for years but he kept declining them cause he wanted to finish his Music Education degree and he actually completed his credits a year early so he finally accepted Yuehua's offer and flew to South Korea just in time for Boys Planet auditions. Seriously crazy.

this was so fun! actually a fact about zhang hao and his violin background and overall past! hao actually comes from a somewhat poor family contrary to popular belief and he couldn’t even go to an amusement park he wanted to go to as a kid because it was too expensive. he also grew up in a less developed (?) side of China, i forgot the place and exact word but he went to a public school in the countryside where he didnt have access to as many learning materials as everyone else (considering the competitive education system in China) and yet he always managed to top his class and even his region. Hence he was able to go to university as one of the top students in the country where he almost pursued geology but changed paths. During all this time he worked part time jobs to pursue his education as well as interest in music, and would play the violin at multiple events while schooling. Yuehua actually tried casting him when he was still in uni but he refused and only accepted years after when he graduated. many presume that he wanted his cert so he had a stable career to fall back onto if the idol life didnt work out for him. But i think its really amazing and inspiring how far hao has come as a person from a less privileged background and learning this about him really madr me respect him 10 times more than i already did. his hard work and passion is seriously so admirable and he’s seriously so impressive for achieving such a feat!! and eventually debuting as the center of zerobaseone!! im so proud of him 😭😭❤️ Also if you really enjoy hanbin’s dancing and want to see more of it, i feel like you should binge watch a bunch of his old dance videos. many have already linked a few in the comments but there are seriously SO MANY dance videos it’s impressive how extensive his history as a dancer is. he has danced so many different genres, styles, and at so many different competitions and events. he pulls off various styles and unique ones as well as queer forms of dances too and isn’t afraid to do something more “risky” and it’s seriously amazing how flexible of a dancer he is in terms of style and his amazing technique. and he isnt embarrassed to show this impressive history but rather proud despite some homophobic and nasty comments! PLEASE CHECK IT OUT! one iconic dance video of his is his Call Me Mother (Rupaul) and you seriously need to check it out. he slayed it sooo hard and this became a popular meme amongst everyone since boys planet and even the members picked up on it and constantly reference it and make fun of it in sooo many different contents so it would be fun if you knew it and the context so you could laugh along. anyways this ep was so fun PLEASEEE check out zb1 folder or halmyungsoo eventually you’ll LOVE them! those are really fun must watch programmes so i really hope u can check them out! ESPECIALLY ZB1 folder. (there’s hanbins call me mother reference here lol)

Hanbin was not even just a backup dancer, he was a professional dancer known by some of the biggest names in the korean dance scene. He was bada lees' - one of the biggest sm choreographers - student and the only guy in her crew at some point, I think. He even was a dance teacher. Needless to say, its actually crazy how good he is at dancing but 0 of that was used as his BP narrative which means he was 1st for 11 weeks and won EVEN WITHOUT FLEXING HIS SPECIALTY ON THE SHOW

YES! Very well said! He is also very versatile! Of course waacking and tutting was his main trick, but he competed in competitions with hip hop routines and even locking I believe. He is extreeemely skilled!

Well PD mentioned previously in a weekly idol reaction that he didn't like Kwanghee's humor all that much and that the show at that time was boring so I assumed PD was talking about his run on the show since people usually don't even remember the hosts they had between Doni and Coni leaving and him anyways. The show was even worse in this period so people forget other hosts even existed.

Hanbin was actually a professional dancer pre-debut not just a back-up dancer. He first specialized in waacking, tutting and vogueing and even taught dance classes himself and created his own choreos. And he also won dance competitions. Fun fact he once attended a lipj dance class before boys planet, so this wasnt even the first time he met her. He also traineed in the just jerk dance academy and was basically bada lees dance student and they are still close. Alot of big names in the dance community know him & supported him during boys planet, like bada, just jerks howl, spella, injeong & hulk from 1Million etc they all either posted about him during boys planet or congratulated him on his debut in their insta stories, alot of SWF dancers also liked posts about him 😊 howl also mentioned him on a livestream once and hanbin posted 2 videos where he was dancing for fun and creating choreos with bada lee when she visited him at his company (studio gl1de). Its kinda sad he couldnt show off that much during boys planet and now wakeone also doesnt really give him much opportunities to showcase his dance skills... everyone was hoping he'd at least do the smoke challenge with bada since she did it with all the male idols she's close to, but that also didnt work out 😭
