Wow, this is why I value your reaction so much PD. Personally, I think Wayv is my favorite NCT sub-unit so when the MV for Phantom first released, I couldn't help but notice the plain black backgrounds/minimal sets in a lot of the scenes and I was upset that SM was treating WayV's first cb in years like this. But after watching your whole reaction through, I can see why the choreography for Phantom was so captivating to me (and how, in fact, it was NOT a low budget MV). I thought my love for the choreo was just a by-product of Ten's effortless stage presence and charisma & the other WayV members' charisma (Henry!!!!!!!). Phantom was also one of the first MV's I watched after Pink Venom (which if you've seen it then you know how expensive that MV is from the scene changes alone) so even though WayV and Blackpink are from different companies I couldn't help but compare the effort both companies put into their MV's. Now I just see that YG are flashy as hell lol but SM puts a lot of thought into the way they shoot things but also in building distinct identities for their artists. I love it

Phantom is criminally overseen, sadly it came out at an awkward time between christmas and new year. I'd like to give some love to the Pierre Blanche remix as well, for me the best release coming out of SM this year, I listened to it even much more than the original 😅

The boat and candles are directly from Phantom of the Opera. The hanging light that crashes is similar to the one in the Opera house, and the tattered remains are reminiscent of the opening of the musical. Even the scene with Xiaojun being pulled away reminds us of the strangling rope used by the Phantom on victims.

I always think a different subunit is my fave in NCT and then somehow wayv always sucks me back in😭

fresh out of debut, wayv became my favorite nct subunit, I love 127 and DREAM with all my heart, but wayv just hits so different for me. so, im glad that PD is hopping on the wayv love train, they aren't as appreciated sadly. thank you PD for this amazing reaction and hope to see more wayv reactions in the future. <3 sending all my love
