The one in red is wonbin, I mean he is wonbin, he is the center in riize, and currently appears to be the most popular member. I mean EVERYBODY is talking about him in reactions and social media. he is amazing, in the videos he stood out a lot, he is incredible in dancing, and in live performances he has an amazing aura, soo much charisma. Such a center indeed. It’s just the debut and frankly he is now 10/10, so it’s just incredible. I think his facial expression’s are that thing that makes him stood out so much. Obviously he is a visual, I mean he is gorgeous, but also he is soo talented, full package. I don’t know why but sometimes he reminds me of Hyunjin of stray kids, or yeonjun of txt. he is definitely going to be an ACE in fifth gen. I truly believe him and hanbin (ZB1) are going to be sooooo populars and big centers for the 5th gen.

You guys should check out Riize’s Its Live for Memories and Get a Guitar. They were amazingg and it was done in one take! (Ofc an SM group 😂) Also a while back, Eunseok and Seunghan were introduced as NCT SM rookies in the Welcome to NCT Universe show before plans were changed. Just like how you mentioned, theyre like NCT’s cousins. Something about them just screams neo especially knowing that 4 of its members originally were/ gonna be part of NCT!

Some other debuts you could check out are Tiot, Toz (sep 27th), and Evnne (sep 18th(?)). Just keep them in mind once they debut Im pretty sure people will mention them more here. I've already seen comments about them so I'm not gonna drop names in case you haven't seen those so that you won't be spoiled, but there are some familiar faces you will be happy to see so, just keep them in mind for once they debut (tho tiot has a predebut (I think) release out).

I'll take you throwing Golden Age in as a musical break as a good sign that you thought it was very much worth getting Blaire's reaction for. The production on that song is interesting to say the least. I got deceived by the teaser, which only had the intro with Beethoven's piano sonata and Doyoung's heavenly vocals. So that switch up really slapped me across the face when I heard it for the first time. It's very on-brand for NCT. Hope you liked the rest of the album! Shotaro is a pretty insane dancer and it's awesome seeing him get more opportunities to show off his skills in RIIZE's choreos! Riize is a refreshing departure from NCT. Let's hope SM does well with this new boy group. Loving the in depth discussions and the casual, free-flowy nature of this podcast episode. Keep it up!

i’ve seen a lot of people say that he looks like he is a mix of ATEEZ’s Seonghwa / TVXQ’s Jaejoong (they look alike) + ZB1’s Jiwoong. which I see that while still being his own unique handsomeness and from what I have seen of his personality so far, he acts a lot like Seonghwa too 😆

lovee RIIZE’s debut! it really is the year of the Boy Groups. RIIZE + xikers being my favorites, but they all are releasing great music! for this album we only have 2 songs (and another song in an unreleased performance video) with two more songs coming, one in Nov + one in Dec. then their first mini at the first half of 2024. I hope you check out the Memories mv bc I love it even more than Get a Guitar. 👍🏻

For RIIZE: There are 7 members. Sungchan and Shotaro were with NCT U for a hot minute. Seunghan and Eunseok were introduced in an NCT Universe variety show to assimilate them into NCT, but that didn't pan out and they're now in this group. We think they were gonna be in NCT Japan. The super-new members are Wonbin (who caught your eye), Anton, and Sohee.

- Ah yes, the car-dependant urban design of North America. Just one of so many reasons why I would never want to live in the US. I'm so glad to live in a place where I was able to sell my car over a year ago and still live a decently convenient life. - I honestly hate driving. Especially long distances. Trains are superior. You can just get on a train and shut your brain off. Go to sleep if you want. Go to sleep behind a steering wheel and you won't wake up again. And up to a certain distance, high speed rail is also superior to flying. None of that bullshit with check ins, weight limits on luggage, time consuming security, etc. Just show up to the platform on time, get on the train and go. Your weight limit on luggage is whatever you're able to carry. And train stations tend to be right in the heart of the city as opposed to airports being somewhere on the far outskirts. Build more trains. Ah fuck, my urbanist train loving agenda is showing through. To be honest, I'm not huge on Golden Age (the song). This is my ranking of the NCT full group songs: 1. Black on Black (2018). This just works on every level. Kick ass song and an amazing performance piece. 2. Beautiful (2021). Such a good ballad. The harmonies! 3. Resonance (2020). As a song it actually doesn't work at all. A super messy mashup of Make A Wish, Raise the Roof, Work It and 90s Love. But the performance! And in a way it's a perfect celebration to close off the NCT 2020 era. That was the best time for NCT imo. Back when a full group album was an event that felt really special. That's not really the case anymore :/ 4. Golden Age (2023). I'm not against mixing genres but in this particular case it doesn't really work for me. The ballad parts of the song just don't speak to me. But the rest of the album is goddamn amazing! - I certainly hope that Memories is included in the Youtube version of your Riize Kulture Study. Like I said, Memories is even better than Get A Guitar! - If the pronounciation and spelling of Riize already throws you off, guess what their fandom name is: Briize. Pronounced „breeze“. Yeah. - I'm just really happy that we finally got a new SM boy group that's not attached to NCT. I love NCT but it was time for something new. LOONA! Reminder that Loossemble are debuting on Friday!

Regarding Riize… I don’t know how to phrase it (because I don’t mean it in a bad way), but they don’t feel like a SM group to me. Which got me thinking… I am not into the whole thing of “the 5th generation has started”, because these generations are not something you can announce and those labels/media use it just as a buzzword (as for example Mnet/Wake One during Boys Planet and many other “non-Hybe Labels or Big 3” labels trying to do to get people’s attention). But the truth is since the debut of NewJeans/maybe even a bit sooner with the creation of Hybe Corporation the scene has been changing and we can see it here and there, but we have to keep it that something being a trend doesn’t imply a new generation… so we have to give it a time to see how much of a change it will bring. And why I am mentioning all of this regarding Riize? Well… SM has always had at least (in most of the cases even more) 2 boy groups. But the last one, NCT, was in the third generation and they hadn’t had their fourth generation boy group, which feels weird, I mean… come on… SM has started all of this with H.O.T and their groups have defined Kpop and its generation a lot! So for me this was like: “Wait, SM has yet to debut their boy group”. And obviously if they took their time for another x amount of years and the scene would have already changed, in that case we could not be waiting for SM all the time. But the truth is they seem to be really different than you would expect SM to debut their 4th generation boy group. But here is one important thing. Those generations don’t change from one side to another side from one day to another. Obviously the change doesn’t come out of blue, but to make it easier we count it from the start to end of the year. So! I feel like I have come to a compromise that they are “in between” these two generations and they will define the upcoming generations as well as ZeroBase1, BoyNextDoor and NewJeans will/are doing. Basically what I am saying is I see NewJeans and these other mentioned groups as BoA of this generation. BoA during the first generation brought a big change for Kpop and it started to spread to another Asian countries by doing language versions, which is a main/big thing for the second generation (the reach outside of Korea). But obviously it wasn’t like: “Yeah, BoA debuted, here comes the next generation”, but because of that the term of 1.5 generation was created. To define the moment, where the upcoming generation started to be formed, but yet not being the generation itself, because the change/process takes some time, obviously.

Do you use trains for traveling outside of Germany as well? I agree with your statement about being able to drive without car, that’s for sure. I kind of agree with trains being more convenient than planes, but there it really depends on the distance and also on the country. Like not all the countries in the EU have their railway as good as Germany has. (Also here is worth mentioning that although you can travel much quicker from country to country, not that many people would do it on a daily basis. I mean… PD once mentioned in The Fan Attic podcast: “It must feel so cool to live in Europe and being in one country and having the option of having a dinner in another country”. Like… technically it is possible if you have that much time and money, but at least from what I know from people around me, we don’t do this. Maybe like having a short vacation for a weekend + half of friday in the country next to the one you live in). Regarding NCT. I don’t know where Golden Age as a song ranks, but I definitely agree Black on Black is the best one! One of my top 5 NCT songs in general! And yeah… for NCT the NCT 2020 was probably the best moment. I mean, personally I still prefer NCT 2018 the most, but after some time I have to admit NCT 2020 is really near to the level of how much I like NCT 2018. Maybe if instead of Resonance they had Beautiful/Beautiful-like song (or actually this Golden Age song) for NCT 2020 instead of for NCT 2021, then NCT 2018 and NCT 2020 would have been really neck to neck for me. For the end of my comment. I see your point about SM debuting group not attached to NCT (they actually said before a few times NCT could grow on even if a new group debuts and for 2020 they had planned a new boy group, so I don’t know why they were waiting/postponing it all the time). But as someone who has been into NCT, it feels weird to me seeing the members there in another group. I mean, sure, they are not NCT and I don’t want to sound like I cannot get over the whole situation with the members being taken out of NCT, but every time I see them, I feel like: “Wait… who are these 3 guys?” Even when Shotaro did a short dance video with TaeYong to Baggy Jeans and one of the 3 new members was dancing with them as well. My mind was like: “Yeah, Shotaro is dancing with his groupmate (TaeYong), but who is this one here?” I don’t want to sound mean to them. I have already remembered their names, just don’t remember their faces yet. It is just based on the fact that I didn’t mind that NCT members didn’t have their fixed unit right from their debut (actually I prefer NCT U concept and music-wise the most from all of their units), so I was okay with SungChan and Shotaro not being somewhere parmanently and then the fact that I was really looking forward to NCT Tokyo, so once EunSeok, SeungHan and Shohei were announced as new members to debut in the upcoming (Tokyo) unit, I was so hyped and immediately got familiar with them.

I go to Amsterdam and Paris semi-regularly for concerts and both are very easy to reach by train. Paris has a direct connection from my city and Amsterdam has direct trains from another city that's a half hour train ride away from mine. When I went to London last year, I admittedly took the plane. Came down to the price. The Eurostar is unfortunately much more expensive than a plane ticket. But all of these cities I go to have such good public transit that I also never need a car when I'm there. And my other vacations are fully organised group trips to theme parks where we have our own private bus booked. It's typically a group of 40 people or so. Those trips usually start off with a flight because it's much easier to get people from all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland to arrive in Stockholm at the same time when you fly them in. >I have already remembered their names, just don’t remember their faces yet. Man, I've been a fan of NCT for three years and I still can't put names to all the faces. I only started being able to identify all of NCT Dream after I went to their concert in April. But I'm still lost with a lot of the other ones. Give me a group photo of Riize and I could not tell you which ones are Shotaro and Sungchan. And that's just fine by me. This is actually the case for the majority of the groups I listen to. I just enjoy the music, I don't need to know all the members. Even Ateez who have been in my top 5 favourite Kpop groups pretty much since the beginning. I only started recognising each of them this year after their last EU tour. Out of all the groups I listen to, I can only very comfortably identify all the members of maybe 15 - 20% of them. And most of them I just got to know over years of constant exposure. It takes a lot for me to get so invested in a group that I actively want to learn all the names and faces.

Shotaro doesn't dance like a typical K-pop dancer because technically he isn't one, or at least, he was professional dancer before becoming a trainee at SM. Compared to other trainees who have had a little dancing experience here and there, Shotaro has a frickin' supply of it! He's been in tons of competitions and has danced with different types of dancers too. He only trained for a month (fact check me if I'm wrong). It's widely known that he's one of the top 3 dancers in NCT (if not the best, lol) but now he's our main dancer of RIIZE

I heard it was around 3 to 6 months of training for him before his official debut in NCT (probably more so for his singing and rapping). But yeah, he's sooooo amazing! And he's been dancing since he was 5 years old so he has tons of professional experience for real! 👏🔥

Okay, I went back and double checked. I thought his training period was 1-3 months (everyone says 3 months) but then I found out that he didn’t have a training period at ALL, just a debut preparation like recording, shooting, and stuff. He didn’t come to Korea until 2020 because prior to that he was with a dance team called GACKT and they were holding concerts in Japan. Timeline wise, he didn’t arrive in Korea until Jul-Aug of 2020.
