yeah Ricky couldn’t get into Jeju because wakeone didn’t bring his passport when chinese citizens need their passport to enter…Hao had his on his phone so he could get onto the flight but wakeone just left Ricky at the airport….it was a whole mess hence the news articles

Just to comment, Ricky and ZhangHao had an issue with their passport, so Hao was able to resolve he issue and flight with the others but Ricky had to wait for the next flight.

About the PD thing, ricky and matthew did a panel at kcon with one of the boys planet producers(?) and ricky kinda exposed him. Ricky said that after the 2nd round watching everyone and especially taerae's team the PD gathered all the trainees and said he thought he would be fired.

Honestly Gyuvin and Ricky are one of the best duo, they are so funny together. Both Hao and Ricky had the situation with the passport but from what I remember Hao had it on his phone so he was able to pass meanwhile Ricky had to wait and take another fly. I wish they would have put a message/subtitle to explain the situation. With the PD / BOYS PLANET discussion, honestly i feel like you are right. I mean PD Kim (I think it was his name) who had a panel with Ricky and Matthew is a good example, he honestly definitely didn't give me a good vibe. I know my timeline got so angry when he talked about MAN IN LOVE team, as much as he was lifting up Taerae, he was literally discrediting the others trainees/shading others. A lot of people didn't appreciate that especially when it's come to descriditing Dongyeol who was an idol since 2015 and was the leader who helped a lot the team, not to mention who had great vocal

I LOVE GYUVIN SO MUCH TOO. He just stole my heart since the end of Boys Planet... I'm the same height as gyuvin, and I'm often told that I look taller because of my proportions, so you kinda nailed that - BUT WHATS EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE IS THAT THE GUYS FACE IS TINY???? LIKE 13CM??? he isnt real

no like i agree with you and honestly i do feel like the pds were very unreasonable with the games, in the end it was funny and enjoyable but not thanks to their involvement at all, and altough we can't really be sure, ricky's passport problem was probably due to them not telling them where they were going

Gyuvin is the best, honestly I fell in love with him through the Boys Planet bonus stuff and only realized it during the finale when I cried when he was announced. He has my fav personality, is super lovable and genuine. He and Ricky really have that whole Tom and Jerry dynamic going on XD

Not sure if you know this already, but Gyuvin and Ricky were friends for 3 years at Yuehua as trainees before BP, hence why they have such great chemistry now! Like you, Gyuvin really was not on my radar until after Boys Planet, but I think he shines so much in ZB1. It was also interesting hearing from the PD perspective. I never know how producers are going to treat the idols and if they're intentionally making themselves the "villains" so you root for the idols instead. I think a good example would be the Going vs. Seventeen episode of GoSe, where you can tell they really have developed a good relationship between the crew and the members. Hope you enjoy Ep 3 as well!

i agree ! this is one of the episodes gyuvin's extremely likeable personality shined the most. it's true we barely got to see him in bp but i fell in love w him through bonus contents n random anecdotes from the trainees (he was rlly a social butterfly)

it's actually really interesting what u said about the PD at the end because ricky and matthew did a panel at kcon with the bp PD and ricky exposed that he gathered up the trainees and told them he was going to get fired because of the "poor" quality of the performances and the Pd then shit talked some other trainees (no names mentioned but he said people on man in love team but not taerae)

That feeling you get of "this is a perfect lineup" is the exact same reaction all the fans got just when they finished anouncing the lineup! Everyone in general was surprised that we managed to create such a perfect lineup based on onepick votes without the intervention of any judge or mentor!

By the way this being released on gyuvin day is making me cry i always love the gyuvin appreciation because talking about boys planet times he received a lot of international hate out of nowhere so i just love whenever someone talks this good about him!! Ever since zb1 was created a lot of people went through a similar experience as you with him. Personally, because i watched all the behind the scene videos and every single thing of boys planet i already had hints of his goofy personality!

Idk if I would agree particularly that the staff are assholes. A lot of the variety shows seem to have similar humor or dynamics where the idols have to win at challenges in order to get certain rewards and so on. I would say for Exo Ladder, there is a similar dynamic between the staff and group but I don't think it's supposed to be malicious. I could be completely wrong doe and it is difficult to tell from what is shown to us. Ricky and Gyu Vin are so cute together haha, you can definitely tell that they've known each other for awhile (almost 3 years as trainees).

i agree abt the lineup! i remember everyone was always like wow how did we manage to get THIS lineup. like such a good lineup and yess truly theyre like family already too and their chemistry is amazing while they are so talented as well! i love this group soo much theyre so likeable. the pd thing was rly interesting to hear! at kcon la recently ricky and matthew had a panel with the boys planet PD and they did reveal/expose a bunch of shocking stuff too so that was interesting. i soo think that they were being slightly unreasonable and not rly in a fun way. they were just strict but it didn’t add on to the fun, and very honestly, some of the missions were basically impossible yet they didnt get second chances at all!! GYUVIN YESS OH MY GOD! gyuvin is so cute and hes so likeable and full of love. i can’t believe so many people hate on him cuz honestly he’s the most endearing and precious person. he’s like “just a guy” and the way he’s so animated and silly is so precious to me😭 i never really cared much for gyuvin in boys planet (didnt hate him either just neutral) but once i learnt more about him he became my 2nd bias right away! it’s actually his birthday today LOL but he’s seriously the sweetest and i think u can really see how comfortable he is with all the members and how much of a prankster/menace he is! OHMYGOD the gyuvin ricky duo. they’re called shimkongz and they’re my FAVOURITE duo!!! they’re both yuehua trainees and have known each other 3 years and are probably the closest in the group tbh. this duo is sooo fun together. you’re so right about them both being kinda slow, its rly funny because theyre both somehow always together and fhey just do dumb or silly things together. they’re always bickering and coming for each other’s necks and fighting😭 sometimes you even see them in the back fighting but its really so entertaining to see the two together because they bicker like CRAZY. they’re known as the tom and jerry duo or cat and dog (ricky resembles a cat, gyuvin resembles a puppy) bc of how their dynamic is like.😭 gyuvin is always disturbing ricky or coming at him and ricky is like a feisty cat fighting back. but they also secretly care for and love as well as take care of each other a lot, they just rarely admit it or show it but i seriously love this duo so much! u can look forward to seeing more of them together and their playful/silly interactions in future content! theyre soulmates fr

Agree with you about the staff and producers of the show being too much. I mean, EXO's staff just got in trouble for leaving Chanyeol on a rooftop while he was blindfolded and there was no fencing either. He literally commented he could hear cars passing below and honestly he genuinely could've gotten injured or worse. There is a thin line between teasing the idols and finding humor in their suffering and then intentionally making hopeless environments that are discouraging for the members and the viewers as well. I really hope they were playing it up for the bit too. Gyuvin is the oldest out of his siblings and you can see that in the way he loves on Yujin too, and funnily enough Gyuvin said he was Yujin's mom and Gunwook said he was Yujin's dad. One thing I have to give credit to is WakeOne's budget for the show. Going to Jeju, transporting the two RV's, all the production's cost, etc. like they put a LOT of money in this. I'm really thankful that so far WakeOne hasn't been fumbling the bag with ZB1 too much. A few things here or there but nothing majorly egregious has happened besides them not preparing Ricky's visa for Jeju.
