I feel like they one-upped themselves again with IDOL, at least on a performance level. Whenever this song comes on they just go insane. But I agree that for their careers, Dynamite was the big break for them and the industry as a whole. Also small correction: Wings came out before Spring Day.

I agree with IDOL and I would also add Boy With Love with the Persona album. That's when they started sweeping all the major awards at the MAMA, MMA and other award shows. And I think ON and MOTS7 era would be even greater than it already was, if most of the activities weren't shut down due to covid :( That album did great but the fact that we didn't get a tour with it was such a loss.

I think when talking about eras that “upped” them gets a little tricky once you hit DNA because DNA really was the start of their western push and put their name out in pop music. Then right after you have Fake Love which I think did was a statement that influences I think Kpop in general and brought more fans in especially when it came from an amazing album like Love Yourself: Tear. I think musically what really was a moment was then releasing a song like Idol. I really do think Idol is one of those songs that only someone like BTS could do. It was a song that mixed so many global influences but also a statement that was “yes I’m an idol yes I’m an artist there’s nothing wrong with that and we will continue being ourselves” I don’t think it may have brought in as many fans as let’s DNA or Fake Love but I truly think it was a song that elevated them into global artists. Also Idol came out in a tumultuous time for the members as they have said 2018 was a hard year for them that they thought was going to end with them disbanding. And then you have the tone shift to Boy With Luv which was a bright pop song that brought in a lot of fans. I know a lot of people who said they got into BTS after BWL dropped. dynamite it’s hard to articulate what it did for them because it exponentially skyrocketed them in a way I don’t think anyone was prepared for. It solidified them as household names globally. If you look at BTS following numbers pre and post dynamite it literally doubled it was really insane.

I always love watching Sugar and J-Hope together. Sugar brightens a lot when he is with Hobi. I think people sleep a lot on Hobi because even when he says that he is 관종 his role in BTS is always more on the back side. He is always helping Namjun, he is like the perfect bridge between the maknaes and the hyungs and also he brings that positive energy.

the you never walk alone repackage album (title was spring day) is a repackage of wings (title was blood, sweat & tears) persoanlly I agree with a lot of people that after spring day it's idol, they performed it on america's got talent (sadly not on a big stage like amas or whatever), and really threw a middle finger to people saying that they were sellouts trying to fit into the western market, bc it had all the elements of what people stereotypically think of kpop (a crazy music video and crazy choreo), but they were also some of the first to actually put traditional korean instruments into their title tracks and songs (there was an article back then saying that after idol the instituition or something in charge of those sounds had an influx of people wanting to use traditional instruments)
