I have an unhealthy obsession with this song, your immediate reactions kind of summed up my first listen as well - I just sat there losing my shit with constant “oh WOW”’s throughout 😂 Every melody (haha) in this song is so beautiful, and that end bit with the rap section? SO epic, so cathartic, so nostalgic…one of my favorite NCT Dream songs for SURE, along with Beatbox. And the video is just stunning - I love that kind of nostalgic, emotional vibe in MVs. I think one of my favorite moments is during the second chorus after “lonely harmonies, broken melodies,” with the “ahhhhh” - paired with the choreo, it’s so satisfying and pretty! Haechan, Renjun, and Chenle taking turns with “and I hate singing,” Jisung exclusively singing, that stunning prechorus, the chanting in the chorus…no exaggeration, I love everything about this song LMAO

Seeing this get uploaded completely made my day. I was resigned to not seeing any NCT related content until August, so imagine my elation when I see you've reacted to Broken Melodies. I already knew you would enjoy this one considering the quality of this single. I feel so validated seeing and hearing you get wowed by the video and the song itself. I actually teared up on my first listen, so you're not alone in getting moved by the song. The vocals go OFF. The vocal line sound majestic in this, and the rappers all sound fantastic as well. Biggest surprise is definitely Jisung. I'm so happy to see him grow into his deeper voice and get so much better at using it. Similar to you, the moment that really hit me emotionally was the prechorus with Chenle and Haechan. Everyone is just, so insanely good at singing. It's ridiculous. Flawless song and performance by the dreamies. All in all, this immediately shot up to one of my top 3 NCT Dream songs, which is crazy considering how good their discography is. The commentary you gave on the video is also super informative, even for someone like me who has already seen the mv at least 10 times. I didn't even realize the last part was meant to portray them arriving in LA, all dressed up, to meet the girl. Interesting tidbit about this: Originally this wasn't a pre-release, but the members liked the song so much that they asked to promote this as one. Apparently they spent 3 times as much time recording this compared to other songs. Heavily second the other comment above, YOU MUST WATCH THE KILLING VOICE. It's such a treat. FYI the track video for 'Poison', another b-side for ISTJ, also deserves a watch. You'll see sides of NCT Dream you've never seen before. I'm really looking forward to see the album reaction. ISTJ really blindsided me in terms of the musical directions they went in. The maturation of their sound is so evident in this latest release, and I'm so excited to see how you'd find it.

Gosh nothing could've prepared me for the rush of emotions I felt when I first listened to this song. Didn't see any teasers or anything and got in the mv having no idea how it would sound like, and I hoped they would go with this mellow upbeat type of sound they excel at. I cried so much 😭
