Yes! Back in February they had an event at theatres where they showed the end of episode 10 - 12 of this season and then immediately it went into the first episode of season 3, which is like a double length episode. It made these final episodes feel even more epic and that fight scene almost cinematic.

Liv

Watching this arc in a binge format just made me have the most nonstop adrenaline rush bc they always get so close to finishing it cutting the head off and then something happens so even though I watched it in like one day it felt like an enternity; the constant on your toes tension was unbearable I do not advise bingeing bc your heart can’t take it ☠️

Liv

IK it’s better pacing and storytelling that they didn’t spend more time in the district before the fighting goes off but the opening makes you wish for more entertainment district shenanigans when everything wasn’t serious and heart wrenching😭

Liv

You’d think that the manga would feel slower paced bc it’s a manga but from reading it you get the exact same feeling of being on the edge of your seat and the fights being long and hard fought, the wins never come easy! I think that’s one thing that makes DS stand out is that it really always feels like oh no they’re not gonna make it out of this one despite knowing there are more eps—you feel concern and you feel how desperate each battle is

Liv

Nothing could be more unsettling than the credits coming in like that

Liv

I’ve finished the manga and I still can’t figure out why Demon Slayer despite everything being powers and crazy abilities still feels so grounded, like it feels real and I can’t place WHY it feels like this in comparison to the feelings of other anime, yes I’ll buy into superpowers of other shows but there’s something so visceral about Demon Slayer AND I NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS

I think I experienced every stage of emotion with just this episode alone. Ufotable did such an amazing job at animating this seriously. The Uzui fight was actually madness I can’t even begin to imagine how much work and detail was put into that fight alone. And it was SO clean. The way they animated his fighting style and the way you can see his second blade swing in each frame as he is fighting, they’re crazy. And the music!!! Such a fitting grand finale for a flamboyant character. Hands down one of the best animated fight scenes I have ever watched.

genuinely this season of demon slayer is the best anime season i've ever watched in my life. like for me, nothing can top this. i wasn't even a huge demon slayer fan before, but this season made me one. so insane.

Julia

This fight scene while watching it theatre really hit different though, like it felt more intense and seeing the art style on a bigger screen was just so amazing

I actually saw the second movie in the theatre and I didn't know anything before that from the second season, because I watch this anime as you watch here on Patreon, so I decided to skip it and spoil it to me a bit. It was actually the last 2 episodes and the first episode of the 3rd season, not just the end. And man! Although I was a bit confused with the setting etc, the fight in theatre was mind-blasting!! This animation style was made for theatre... But with mentioning that... I am now a bit confused. I thought the second season has 18 episodes... why is this episode 10? Alright... before sharing this comment I checked that on the wikipedia and although the Mugen Train movie was released, they separated the movie into episodes of the 2nd season as the first half and then after a break they continued with the second half of the season, so it makes sense this and the upcoming episodes are the last ones of the season 2. Basically we watched here the Mugen Train movie and then we skipped to the second half of the season 2

WiseSmellyLegs

As I mentioned in the previous comment. This season has actually 18 episodes, but the first 7 episodes (which you skipped) are basically just Mugen Train movie cut into episodes. But it is weird you skipped it without knowing it... apparently Netflix or any other VOD provides the Mugen Train movie and automatically takes you to the second half of the season 2 (with changed numbers of episodes, so people don't realize it)

Irieezy.

No because this damn episode was INSANE! Can't believe you guys are almost done with S2

Cristine

Sadly PD also missed the anime original episode for Rengoku. Hope they can go back and watch it one day.

WiseSmellyLegs

Wait. There’s like a special episode? Or do those regular episodes of season 2 include some special material, which is not included in the movie?

bravemoomoo

Um the episode link is not working for me

jstndcsn

The video does not exist for me 😭

Cintia Bryant

this says the video does not exist

Cristine

Not sure if you’ll see this since I’m answering back a couple days later. 😅 But the Rengoku “special” episode if I remember correctly is just the first episode of season 2. The entire episode is anime original and wasn’t shown in the mugain train movie. What we saw in the movie starts on ep 2. I really recommend watching the first episode.

WiseSmellyLegs

Oh! Thank you for letting me know! I hope we could watch that episode here with PD and Blaire as well!
