PD You should know that businesses in Korea subscribe to either Genie or Melon or Flo/Bugs for music in their shops. The employees do not select what to play. They are subscribed to playlists, like top 100, Kpop top XX, Trot, 70-80s etc. Whatever playlist they select is what plays in the shops. NOW EVERY SERVICE IN KOREA has legitimized sagaeji by allowing groups and companies to BUY placement on those playlists (as many times as they want and as many songs as they want), HYPE and Starship have taken this to an extreme. Hybe is paying for All New Jeans songs, and for a while was fighting itself with LeSserifim to get their songs inorganic streams. Starship also buys multiple slots for IVE. That is why everyone here knows the songs, it's not because we are playing them or choosing to play them ourselves, it's because they are being played in businesses everywhere. So streaming charts are essentially meaningless since this practice was adopted. They sell placement on the default playlists that show up on the main screen when you open the apps, as well. Many people who aren't huge fans and just listen to music when they go on a run or to the gym, select a playlist and just let it play through. Streaming charts don't reflect what people actually CHOOSE to listen to individually.

PD, when will you go back to US? You said it's next week on youtube cause LSRF will be opening pop up store in Seoul starting tomorrow till May 7th. They have cafe on the first floor and sell their apparel, accessories, etc that they wear in trailers and concept photos on the 2nd floor. You should check it out if you're interested.
