I thought it was really cool in Alone how the chorus says 'Make it right, it’s gonna be all right' and literally the counter melody interweaved is '(Mayday, get me out of here)'. And then it follows with 'Lie lie lie lie lie lie lie' in the far far background. So it's like he's comforting himself on the surface, but he doesn't believe it. Also he's 'happy' in Like Crazy and tells himself everything is fine, but deep down he knows that's not true and another side of him sees the problem, and wants to be "let out", but is being buried by the alcohol and self-reassurances. And then Set Me Free pt 2, the slap back to reality with that buried side of him finally bursts out.

alone probably is my favorite , but i do love all of the songs of the album. i don't know if its about girl though, he himself said its about his friends but honestly its not that important , the main message i feel like is Jimin's metamorphosis. which is admirable and we all can relate and learn from him .

you're def right that jimin's talking about relationships - he said so himself in interviews - but i don't think that he's necessarily talking about a girl/girls in a romantic sense. i think our society forgets that a breakup from a platonic relationship, breaking off friendships, can be just as hard if not even harder on us. so while it could have been in a romantic sense, it doesn't only have to be that and i think its important that we acknowledge that! jimin's narration is so well done and i think there are many different stories he's telling us through his lyrics and melodies. i'm so thankful that he decided to be so open about his emotions and thoughts and will never take that for granted <3

Jimin has said he's very protective of BTS and has said that he's had people close in his life that have talked bad about bts and he has cut them off from his life. When I think of Face-Off and his interviews it makes me think of those kind of relationships he's had where he was basically used for his fame. Little context for some people. in 2019, Jimin was doing a lot of solo traveling during their month break and he went to places like Paris and Moscow. There he was out a lot and sadly people were posting videos and pictures of them "hanging out" with him when he was clearly drunk. I think the lyrics could refer to those friends as well as ones that have used him because he's rich and famous. From what we know, Jimin doesn't have a lot of public friends beside Ha Sungwoon (formerly WannaOne now soloist) and people from Big Hit. So I wonder if the rising fame and then suddenly the pandemic hitting really put an effect on his relationships with people that led to him trying to cope

I suddenly had the thought that his album follows the 起承轉合 like their Love Yourself trilogy. He said he was sure he wanted four songs, and knew what he wanted to sing about, and it starts with face-off where he's been let down by people (he said he had been dealing with friendship breakoffs) and feels terrible, Interlude: Dive transitions into Like Crazy where he starts drinking and he doesn't want to be saved (and as they said in suchwita sometimes someone trying to save you makes you spiral even more), Alone where he wakes up from the drinking and aftermath of Like Crazy and still feels sad and alone, then Set Me FreePt.2 where he pulls himself out of the vicious cycle and sets himself free. I may be thinking too much but I think it kind of fits.

This! Also I love how in Alone the 'lie lie lie lie lie lie lie' reminds me a little of children singing in a mocking kind of tone. Like he knows it's a lie, and his head is almost mocking him with the hard truth

he did a ‘spend the day with jimin’ video with vogue the other day (could be fun as a bonus drop) and it sounds like like crazy really is mainly about how he was almost deluding himself it to thinking he was fine and having a good time drinking etc. but then he realised actually wasn’t ok at all (alone)! but yeah i just love how this album really tells a story, definitely one of my favourite releases of the year!!

hi PD! watching the listening party now and I noticed you're using genius translations, which are obviously fine. But I think doolset bangtan tends to have "better" or at least more insightful translations for BTS lyrics (in case you want to check something different out in the future)

Given how JIMIN changed from an ENFJ to an ESTP this makes a lot of sense. I’m an ENFJ and I’ve found that I’ve just been used by all my fellow peers and family and friends. Even my own family just ran my credit into the ground after yelling at me for years to “trust them” with my money. It’s unfortunate to hear about that event where they posted photos of him. Were these people Korean or people who were from there?

It amazes me how ENFJ's are so used. My husband is also an ENFJ and I call him sometimes 호구 because he is such a good friend and person but people use him a lot and don't appreciate him enough ( he got scammed by one of his friends). I always say to him that he is to sentimental and too caring which I love but with some friends I want him to face the reality that not all friends are good friends. All ENFJ's are such good and caring people. I read somewhere that ENFJ's are like retriever dogs in the way that they are caring and amazing dogs, also super protective and retrievers are good service dogs ( I hope I am not offending anyone with the comparison). With Jimin I think those people posting were people from where he was traveling.

Jimin’s MBTI is ESTJ BTW, from the latest references from HYBE

1. Don't piss off or hurt Jimin, he WILL put you in a song and use to better himself and give courage to everyone else! Im honestly relieved and thankful that artists like Jimin and B.I have this outlet for their emotions. They have a very special way to connect with themselves and their feelings through lyrics and music. Sometimes I wish I had a way to do that. Mostly I just go for walks on the beach or in the woods and try to be still. Other times I drown myself and the world out with THEIR music. But nothing could be as freeing as making music like this for the whole fucking world to hear. It also must be scary as fuck to put yourself out there like they have (and you I might add). Jimin and Hanbins Waterfall album are the most personal albums I have ever heard. I cant imagine what they must have felt to write them at that time and hopefully the release they felt after. It's honestly so humbling and beautiful that we get to experience art like this in our life. Its all we can do in return is to be true to ourselves and be a better version of ourselves every single day. Just be better than we were yesterday. I dont know who I'd be or what would have happened if BTS didn't find me when they did. And then every other artist and group after them.

Also Jimin went on Lee Mujin Service!!! Its beautiful!
