BABY MONSTER PART 1

When I saw Yang Hyun Suk there my reaction was: “What?? If there is one thing that no one can deny is that Koreans don’t forget…” to give an example, during the first generation there was a popular singer Steve Yoo and he left Korea and became a U.S. citizen to avoid the military service and he was forbidden to come back to Korea for ages (like nearly 2 decades, I think)… So at first I thought they just used some old recordings with Yang Hyun Suk still in it, but as it seems now from later videos, he is really involved. The thing is he did step down as a CEO, but kept his share of YG’s stocks, so although YG has changed a bit by changing the CEO and other positions, he has been around in some way, I guess. Also… his brother returned to the position of CEO or better to say co-CEO, because the new one after the “Fall of YG in 2019” stays on this position with him as well. But still… I don’t know, it feels so weird to but his face in anything around this group. Although many newer Kpop fans might not be aware of the history or some of them might be only BLACKPINK fans and this will be the “another Kpop group” for them, it’s kind of a risky move, I would say… If he is an executive producer, he could have stayed covered behind the scene.

hes been with them for years but them the issues happened with bi and seungri. But recently the court case where yg threatened the girl who exposed bi ended. He was found innocent cuz even though he said those things it was found that people didnt believe he meant he was literally going to hurt her if she exposed him and tried to blackmail him. They believed he meant he was gonna end her but like through the legal system or financially something not literally so he was found innocent in december and a week later this was announced, Everyone at yg was waiting for him to come back to handle the debut according to an article released before the court case ended since hes been with them since the very beginning of the baemon project and since this was announced immediately after it ended i believe it so yeah yg clear and they can focus on what comes after bpink most likely disbands cuz they gonna need them to be big. If they dont wanna be on cube level especially with hybe monopolizing the whole industry annoyingly as a fan of sm yg jyp source music artist. Hopefully yg doesent also sell out i like labels staying independent sm really did it for me on disliking hybe sm has such a distinct sound and artist are so much more interactive and open with interactions compared to other labels hate to see everything just become hybe even though i like their artist like sserafim seventeen fromis its a pity imo but what can u do theyre grown adults its their situation to handle just feel bad for the artists not knowing what their future holds with sm and hybe being snakes

By the way thank you for including BABYMONSTER to bonus drops! After the recent situation of yours (like it’s not recent, since it has been growing on you for a long time, but you finally opened up about it) I thought that we won’t get BABYMONSTER reactions. And I am so hyped for this group! I mean… not that much as I was for BLACKPINK, because that was like the group I had been waiting for for many years, basically right from the moment I got into Kpop and since I am a huge BlackJack and VIP, I was curious about the upcoming group of YG. And throughout those years I went back and checked some old school YG music like 1TYM, JinuSean, Lexy, Stony Skunk, 45RPM or I even liked the only Swi.T album… and basically YG Family… (Hip Hop Gentlemen is 👌🏾👌🏾), so although it’s weird to say to be a fan of a label, because it’s still a business at the end of a day, I can say YG is the way I go. And because of all of this, I can’t wait what they have for us! I mean… the 4th generation is about the growth of girl groups and all of them surpassing each other all the time and now YG comes into the game!

But the Han Seo Hee situation with B.I and him covering it up, wasn’t the only thing, why he had to step down… If we put aside the fact (and morals as well, since he has a family) that he paid her as an high-end escort, he was charged of 1) mediating/purchasing prostitution 2) overseas gambling 3) illegal currency transactions. So although you are right about the thing you mentioned, there are more things, which are not really accepted by the public

Hana

Baby Monsters indeed!

And about BLACKPINK disbanding… well, when the Born Pink album was announced I felt like this again the 2NE1 situation with the last album Crush, so I was thinking the same. But the thing is Kpop is totally different from back then when 2NE1 were around and also BLACKPINK is on totally another level with their popularity. So I can rather imagine them going to The Black Label with Teddy (because I feel like they were initially meant to be under The Black Label, which was created not even a year before their debut and basically the logo has the same font and style as BLACKPINK’s logo) and with that they would stay with the YG, so they could be the older sister group to BABYMONSTER and to the upcoming The Black Label girl group as well, for which Teddy announced castings last year

Chad Williams

yeah but yg has never cared about public perception people will hate him for breathing and the things hes actually guilty of like gambling buying a escort or financial crimes in general its not like he sexually assaulted someone or had someone hurt. With prostitution personally i dont care because even though id never do it or agree with it shes being paid very well especially the type of high end escort she is the off the street hookers are the ones i have issues with becuase they have no choice but to do it to survive and usually get abused but this girl wasnt that shes a spoiled brat looking for a payoff and has done it b4 to others but yeah the financial crimes people he might do business with might not like it understandably but as a fan i dont care bout rich people crimes where only other rich people are affected. i respect yg as a person that with all the controversy he hasnt caved in to the oversensitive korean public who hate u for breathing look at wonyoung yuna they get so much hate for way lesser issues so netizens opinions are irrelevant to me plus yg with its groups and 4th gen groups in general aim for western market above all so like bpink take all their korean fans away theyre still biggest gg in kpop currently so their korean popularity isnt important to me baemon will prove themselves i beleive. and with yg back in a higher public position i beleive good things will happen everything started to trend down at yg in seungris scandal and bi but now thats all over hes back stocks have calmed down i expect better now that they can focus on music a lot depends on bpink contract renewal in august and their debut in a couple of weeks or a month as to how everything goes but yeah i respect ur opinion just dont think it matters cuz yg has always been different not just as a label but how they handle things and theyve always stuck around through it all so dont think anything happening now changes that unless they cave to hybe which i dont see with their company leadership even though they do a lot of business with hybe in other areas i dont see them of all labels caving i think theyd rather go bankrupt b4 caving simply cuz of pride

Chad Williams

yeah if bpink do stay i think its be cuz of teddy and under tbl as well just like taeyang

WiseSmellyLegs

I am not saying I am against Babymonster because of him, I can put these two things a part of each other. I was only thinking about it from the point of view how the general public might see it

I’m obsessed with Haram’s performance

yuta

haram voice technique kinda reminds me of woosung from the rose

billie27

Actually i wouldn't be suprise if haram is one of the main vocal, I just think this wasn't the best choice of a song compare to the other members to showcase her abilities but she seems technically quite skilled. I'm very interesting to see what they songs gonna sound like because Teddy is definitely not gonna partipate in the producing aspect since Theblacklabel announced they gonna debut a gg too. Thats why there's a lot of speculation about Blackpink being transferred to theblacklabel after their contract end with Yg.

hannah

YG officially announced that yang hyunsuk is back to manage treasure on the right hand and babymonster on the left one since they are the "next movement" of yg!! he was even spotted attending treasures concert in Seoul a while ago.

Lisa H

something about this felt so....dated...when i watched it. i was expecting something a little more interesting for the intro of the new group following the biggest girl group in kpop right now...

Mado

I had the same thoughts. But I kinda think this is what YG is aiming for.. they don’t plan to reinvent anything or bring something fresh into kpop. Like ‘back to YG roots’?

winterkrash

I think so too. I think they don't want another Blackpink because that would be self-sabotage. They might want something different so they're trying to veer people away from the idea of another Blackpink.

winterkrash

YG just announced that they will be doing some changes in staffing and management to give groups more comebacks. If this pushes through, then BM would get frequent releases (more frequent than what BP had in the past 7 years of their career). And this will also mean more released from BP as they continue with YG (we are all assuming that BP already renewed their contract. looking at their schedule, it seems like they are in for another stretch).

fien

when it was announced YGNGG would be coming soon, I wondered how they would differentiate them from BP. Everyone would be comparing them, they can't do a girl grush concept cause it would be too similar etc... After seeing just the 7 performance/training video's, I knew it wouldn't be a problem. They are so vastly different in vocals, rapping, looks etc also I remember in WINNERTV, as the first boygroup introduced after BB, YG said that WINNER needed to be totally different from BIGBANG. WINNER debuted with a full album and 2 slow/sad songs as title tracks and it was a hit. I think they will go the same route with Baemon. Not necessarily slow songs but just make them so different from BP that you can't compare them and they shine in their own way

fien

I agree that Baemon should release lots of songs, full album right from the beginning. The problem for BP in my opinion is that they can't release songs that are too different from their usual style because they release so little music and every song needs to be a hit. it limits the kind of music they can make... but for YG standards TREASURE releases a lot of music lol and they probably have the smallest discography of the entire 4th gen... so i'm not getting my hopes up :p
