Btw, as far as I remember, Girls Planet made it a point to say the votes were audited to prevent voting manipulation as well - since both shows were Mnet's post-Produce scandal shows.

My sweet sweet hui. I was shocked when I saw he was participating on boys planet, it concerned me about pentagon’s future, but hui is so incredible I want the world to see what he can do. I’m also so glad to see lee seokhoon on these shows again, learned about him from produce and his music moves me deeply. I think he does a great job of pushing the trainees to truly do their best whilst still being an honest and caring mentor plus he’s entertaining haha I love him in variety shows. He’s from sg wannabe btw ✌️

Keep in mind we dont know for sure if all groups chose their own song for the introduction or if mnet chose for them... Like who in their right mind would chose a Taemin song...

Jiwoong being in inx was such a surprise, i  knew of him from the acting but 2gether by inx has been on my playlist for years now.

I also have a bit of a bone to pick with mnet, they make a big deal about how some of these idols have already debuted but decided to try their luck on Boy's Planet for various reasons. Then proceed to montage past all these same idols. I get that this is a time crunch but this stage of the show is where you make your biggest first impressions, and it's a bit sad that a bunch didn't get that chance.

im so sad they didn't show Yedam's group performance i was really excited to see him again but yeah i think who im rooting for the most besides him are matthew, jay and song habin as well as you guys and lee seunghwan too (he was part of 1the9 btw) also keita did debuted already he's part of ciipher the group Rain made! also tbh i think anyone who's a fan of hui or pentagon it's probably hoping hui wont win or thinking that's best for him cause honestly he's place is with pentagon and not spending 2 years with a temporary group it feels like he really just needed to get that clout back for them and improve in the things he thought he was lacking

Your reading of Hui's situation on this show was basically the same as mine after I saw the episode weeks ago: it's not like CLC's "your team is dismissed" situation since Pentagon still has some solo schedules and still attend some festivals but since this is their contract renewal year things seem a little vague for them and with Jinho also going on an audition show (Phantom Singer..it's not really for a kpop group and I think he could do Pentagon activities even if he makes it) things really look weird. So for me it's really implied that Hui is doing all this for Pentagon and not because he wants do redebut in another group. And the guy had to audition like 1-2 weeks after he came back from the military...I DOUBT that he was in his final days there thinking "hmmm maybe I should audition for another survival show when my service is finally over". The other Pentagon members obviously can't talk about what's really going on directly but what I can pick up in between the lines is that they really want to stick together as a group and that they will always be Pentagon no matter what happens but it doesn't feel like it's just a simple matter of renewing the contracts or not. Anyways I'll be voting for Hui so he can go as far as possible but agree that I'm not too keen on him spending 2+ years away from Pentagon again so I just want him to get as much clout possible for the group (although I have zero faith in new kpop fans since they only flock in mass to new shiny groups and Pentagon is a 7 year old group but here is to hoping it pays off). And I also feel that the contract might be longer? Maybe they will try the X1 contract of 2.5 years exclusive + 2.5 years non-exclusive that they couldn't follow through till the end because of the rigging scandal...who knows since from IOI till X1 they were always trying to increase the contract length.

I HIGHLY recommend watching the full stages for both Rush Hour (Jays team) and Mirotic (Jiwoongs team) as they cut the entire rap section out for Rush Hour and cut out pretty much every single one of Ichans lines in the Mirotic stage and he did really REALLY good.

If you want to check out Kim Jiwoong's dramas Roommates of Poongduck is on Viki and it's the better one of the two. He acts with the same partner in that and Kissable Lips and the chemistry is flowing with them, but Poongduck is definitely the one to watch. I also LOVED INX's debut song and didn't even realize he was in that group! 2gether is a good bop from them too!

I love how the masters were like "Matthew's dancing is a 2, maybe 2.5" and PD are Dez are "he's the one of the best dancers on the show" lol no hate, Matthew is very eye-catching, and I do hope he makes it!

I think Hui is trying to be the next Nuest and I'm not saying it in a bad way. In Produce 101 Nuest members got a lot of love and made so many new fans. The only winner was MinHyun but participating made them get a contract renewal. After produce 101 Nuest members careers are so much bigger so it was a big win for them. That maybe what Hui wants for Pentagon. Also I think from a korean's perspective Hui editing the song a little bit maybe think of a little disrespectful towards the producer who made the song and that maybe a minus and the reason for getting 3 starts. Also it maybe seen as a little unfair cuz the other trainees were sticking to the original lyrics and melody .

Jiwoong was in INX and also in ATEEN by the way. You were talking about Mirotic's cover, definitely recommend you to check out the one done by DGNA recently on PEAK TIME (JTBC survival who give opportunities to groups that are on break for various reasons, have disbanded, aren't well know or recently debuted). It's airing every wednesday, i know it did quite good in Korea, a little more than BOYS PLANET when it's started. Even Moon Jongup (B.A.P) is here and covered for the audition ANYONE (SEVENTEEN) and there are more amazing contestants like BAE173 or DKB For the Signal Song, I wish they would have thought about contestants who have low ranges/rappers because the song is quite high so it's even harder for them. Also, I wish the dance master wasn't that hard especially at the start since not everyone have the same learning curve when it's come to dancing, not everyone get it first try even the best dancers but I get he might be harder on the Korean Trainees since they got the song before the Global one. During the dance class, the one you asked who it was (he went against Gunwook) is Zihao, he is from Lay's (EXO) agency. I wish Mingyu would have got at least one star, I get he might not have the expression etc but still, give him a point for the fact he was able to dance and sing without mistake + he did well. It's really suck for Doha especially when you see how much he want to do his best and try to improve as much as he can. I love Takuto, Mingyu and Doha and respect them so much for their passion. Also Mingyu was born in 1999. Cong became one of my favorite with this, honestly I actually had my eye on him before because I went and saw his audition with Honghai on VIEW (SHINEE), there weresome mistakes but they weren't big, it was one of the audition I enjoyed the most.

As someone who watched multiple seasons of produce, i really hate watching the first lessons and mostly the whole signal song stuff. They always break down peoples confidence. The mentors are surprised with people that did so well before but are doing bad now but none of the trainers ever considers the people that have a slower learning curve. Just because you can´t learn the dance in 5 min or a day you are suddenly a "bad dancer". I am not even gonna say anything on the vocal part bc it´s always too high for the guys. There was no produce season where that wasn´t a problem. Not everyone is a Tenor. They don´t even really consider the rappers with lower voices. Just objectivly saying but do you really thing RM would be able to sing this high song in a matter of hours if at all!? it just doesn´t make sense to me.

this is such a late comment considering when the video came out, but i HAAAATE how every contestant on these shows is expected to have the same vocal range. yes it's possible to expand on range with training, but a lot of them just have a natural lower tone. of course they're going to sound bad when they're forcing it. what makes a good singer (and producer) all training aside is knowing how to best use your voice. i felt the same when they got mad at yurina on gp999 during that one round because she couldn't hit the notes... AFTER THEY RAISED IT TWO FULL STEPS. it's similar to how people choose the wrong song when they audition, except for the signal song the coaches are trying to get a whole 98 contestants to sing the same notes. it leaves no room for anyone whose sweet spots are in lower registers. anyway lmao i am passionate about this as an alto whose sweet spot is pretty low compared to other women and am grateful when i can sing along to a whole song in my chest voice because most pop songs are made for sopranos.
