I liked O.O a lot from the start and I couldnt understand why everyone hated it. Maybe its because I listened to a lot of mushup songs in the past and got used to it I dont know. But I already liked them from the getgo as a whole song not as seperate parts from deferent songs

I quite like both, but for both it took me a couple listens to appreciate them. I actually prefer Tank to O.O. I really love the instrumental (one of the hardest instrumentals in Kpop imo) and weird-ness of the lyrics in the chorus. I also really love the bridge with the piano and unique vocals.

Tank is a fun listen for me, I really love the bridge, you get a haunting feel to me with Lily's vocals. Though the lyrics for the chorus get very boring and repetitive very fast. I couldn't even finish watching O.O's music video the first time I tried. I stopped when they had the changeover, that long pause was really abrupt and made it hard for me to listen to the song. When I listened to just the audio then I enjoyed it a lot more. Though I agree with you in that the third part of O.O is kind of a let down and somewhat jarring. After a few listens to O.O it's grown on me, and I was finally able to watch all of the music video recently. I will say I love the choreo for O.O, very fun to watch. Hopefully the girls get a better comeback than their debut, it seems like they are all very talented.

My conspiracy theory is as follows: -I couldn’t find an official lyric source for Tank that says “freshy” - they all say “fresh” which doesn’t match syllabically, like it 1000% sounds like the lyrics are “fishy”. JYP dropped a teaser very early on of that part in Tank and the internet collectively was like wtf is this and why are they saying fishy. Part of me thinks that the original lyrics are fishy (I’m sure they might’ve been trying to use some drag/AAVE slang by using that word) but JYP saw the reaction and changed the official lyrics to make it seem like they were saying “fresh” instead. Just a conspiracy though lmao - no one can convince me they are saying fresh and not fishy. But legit though I think I agree that O.O has grown on me. I still don’t like it, but without the music video (and that gaping pause between the sections - it makes it so hard to orient yourself with the structure of the song) it is more cohesive. I also agree that the problem sonically lies with the return back to the 1st section. To me I think it’s not necessarily the return to that sound, but more so how they transitioned. At least into the superhero section they stripped back the instrumentals to let us adjust to the new key, tempo, and sound. But on the way back it just feels clunky and like the transition was an afterthought. That’s what made the song feel jarring in the first listen and it still feels the same. Final thing I’ll say is that I don’t think it was just a coincidence that JYP brought on SM-linked producers. Obviously it was different teams for Tank than O.O, but overall I think it was very intentional that the project overall is reminiscent of NCT and AESPA (sonically for both, and storyline-wise for AESPA). JYP saw the success of songs like Sticker and Next Level and wanted to try their hand but didn’t do it nearly as well or in a way that made it feel inspired instead of stolen, which is how it comes off now. The only thing I don’t agree with you on is liking Tank less than O.O. I can see what you’re saying about the melodic content and lack of specialness though - just comes down to personal taste. I pray that JYP learns from this and handles NMIXX better in the future because the girls are crazy talented and could do something really special if JYP plays the cards right.

O.O takes like 10 listens before it starts being amazing. I absolutely hated it on first listen through. Now Its pretty amazing as a listening experience. The MV was too distracting. Tank.... all I heard was "im so freaky fishy fishy" in the chorus LOL. Still do not like
