i agree this episode was just not that likeable on a personal/emotional level. like, it was a good episode but i didn’t enjoy watching it. gaon is my personal fave on this show too, so the whole time i was internally screaming. as for my opinion on his leaving: he’s responsible for his own actions up to this point and i dont believe he’s been manipulated by yohan (i mean… that’s a lie, he HAS, but in a weird way cuz yohan is very upfront about his manipulations???) however, i DO feel bad for him and understand his pov. it’s very easy to say you’ll do whatever it takes. however, when most ppl say that, i think they envision this: “there’s things i’ll have to do that i won’t want to and i think are generally bad, but i’ll make myself do them cuz i have to”. the situation gaon is in is different from that. he doesn’t have an issue with threatening or blackmailing or manipulating or beating up these terrible ppl. however, the change and thing he (like most ppl) didn’t except to happen is the way his priorities/mindset shifted. he AUTOMATICALLY looked for the file, it was his first instinct. if he was like “oh my god, she’s dead and now i STILL have to look for the file, this is horrible and disgusting but i have to do it anyway” i think he would be less afraid of who he’s becoming. it’s that internal change that’s bothering him imo. so like, i’m still frustrated that he left (those flashback scenes from both gaon and yohan totally framed it as a break up btw LMAO), but i get what he’s thinking

I really think that Gaon did go too far, he is emotional in all of his actions tbh, its a character flaw I think. Even when he got the call about the Professor/Supreme Court Justice he rushed in (he did call but it seems like a trap). He doesnt suit the methods that Yohan uses at least past the court/research methods. In regards to Su Hyeon arresting him, I think that Gaon would've been framed maybe because of how the president is in control of the police and he knows that Yohan and Gaon are working together. For the other judge, I'm sorry I don't remember her name, she seems very realistic for someone who was from a small area who doesn't know anything about how things works in the big world she is going into. But I found it weird how she was so obsessed with the glamor of being famous yet in court she is very forward thinking.

Tbh tho, how is gaon dumb… are we even watching the same show hahaha yohan’s way is not the “right answer.” The writer’s words: people who don’t look at what they do, don’t question themselves, when they do anything in the name of “justice”, either way is as scary as those fallen from their greed. Yohan and professor both did what they think is justice. Professor thought he does it for the greater good, yohan wanted revenge. But they both trusted their own methods without looking back at themselves. Gaon has always been evaluating the situation and improving. He looks at his own actions and reflects upon himself. People can disagree with his view, but he ain’t “dumb”. He was not manipulated, he just knew he does not want to become the person he’s turning into for the name of revenge and justice.
