Another great episode, even after the second watch. I have to agree with PD on who is worse, VIP or the creators. IMO the VIP's are worst, due to the fact that the game wouldn't exist if it wasn't for their contribution. Like realistically, anyone can invent or come up with any concept, but it's the “investors” that make the whole concept roll out. Going of that, makes it even more gross. Because they have all the money to help these people, but they choose to toy with their lives for the sake of entertainment. Also, I think the reason for the glass shattering was because the time was up. So, if there were any players left after, they would have all fallen.

this episode was great and the game was so nerve-wracking for me the worst are the VIPs as well because they're like having fun watching people die and betting on their lives like it was nothing its so sick and on top of that they are probably the reason why the game continues to happen since they put money on it

I wish Blair had been able to expand on her reasoning a little bit further cuz it sounded like it was going in an interesting direction. I'm going to be contrary to PD and most of the comments and say I do think the creators of the game are worse not only does it take a messed up mind to conceptualize these games for the amusement of others but I think the whole benevolent and God complex nature of it makes it even more gross. It takes a special kind of messed up person to self aggrandize and pat yourself on the back for putting people through this type of game as though it's some sort of gift whereas any asshole can bet on the suffering of others.

I think the Frontmann is the worst. He is so completly lost in his ideology of "fairness" (nothing in the game is actually fair) and he is genuily believing that he is doing them a favor by giving them a "second chance". It's so fucked up and such a creepy superiority complex...

I think the creators of the game are worse. Because sure the vips are sadistic af for investing into such a thing and people want to take advantage of those rich weirdos. But if the creators of the game never created it, would the vips even know that that’s a thing they’d be interested in? Would they be creative enough to know that they’d want to watch a game like that? I’m not sure. So I think the creators are worse

I also think the creators of the game are worse. It's not exactly comparable but think about the people making movies based of murderers like Ted Bundy, basically making money of someone elses crimes, like the VIPs kinda. I'd still think the murderer is worse than the people making money from it, even if they're ofcourse also bad

"Why don't they leave in English subtitles for the English part?" I was wondering because the subtitles you guys have are slightly different from when I watched, so I checked. This is too late now lol but I think you guys selected the "English" subtitle option and not the "English [CC}" option, which subtitles the English portions. "English [CC]" is the one I used, and it provides subtitles for both Korean and English parts.

I agree with PD - I think the VIPs are worse. Yes, the creators made the game and brought all these people here, but at least...they put work into it? They genuinely care about the spirit of the game, albeit in their own twisted way. The VIPs just come in, throw money around, and then leave, and they have no personal investment and experience no consequences whatsoever. The way the VIPs stay so completely detached even when people are literally dying in front of their eyes is really fucked up to me. I also had a thought - yes, the game is terrible and the creators are terrible for putting it forward, but do you think the games would have gone on for as long as they did if the VIPs didn't pay so much attention to it?

I think the VIPs are worse because while the Host/Leader does run this game and it is gruesome and tragic I think it stems from a place of helping, just in the most twisted way possible. But through the rules of the games they try and keep it fair and they go through such extreme measures to ensure that fairness. The VIPs on the other hand through the actions of their betting and rooting for people to lose the game show that they are only there for the spectacle and death, they aren't there to see a winner. They also kind of implied that there are other events that they participate in outside of Korea taht are maybe not exactly Squid Game but possibly some other variant. So who throws those games? The same Host? Do they have an International Game Association where members choose to put on similar events? There are so many questions...

It does but the CC subs for the Korean is very inaccurate because it's for whatever they say in the English dub. It was a whole thing in media news. It's just silly not to include subtitles for the english parts in both versions.

PD echoed my thoughts exactly. I think the VIPs are worse. The VIPs are strictly consuming it for entertainment and are treating it as a sport. The creators at the very least have a (misguided) view that they're doing this to help people and give people an opportunity. They believe they're doing something to better the lives of the participants where the VIPs are just using it for their own enjoyment.

love the concept of this game but man, that english portion with the vips really felt so cheap, it kinda ruined this episode for me :/

I agree w/ PD. Also, the glass manufacturer ajhusshi should've used his jacket's zipper to check for the tempered glass

The VIPs are more fucked up. The leader/Front Man has at least some ideology there and although it sounds weird, he is giving those contestants some hope/chance and wants to make it for all of them equal to let them feel the equality, which is missing in the real world. Those VIPs are just a bunch of rich people.
