Omg are we getting stray kids too😱

Juliana Ferrari

Maybe we're getting Somi as well 👀

This genre came out of NOWHERE and I'm so glad they went with electro swing, it worked so well for her and it's right down my alley. I honestly loved everything on this album a lot more than I though I would. I do have a background in jazz and funk music as a trombone player though so I'm very biased

I hope we are getting txt too🙏🏻

So Woollim is technically a subsidiary of SM, so that might explain their music production quality IF they actually share resources. I'm not entirely sure how independent Woollim is from SM when it comes to the people behind the scenes, besides clearly having a much smaller budget.

Woollim parted ways with SM long ago in 2016 exactly for the reason that SM didn't share that much resources with them and just wanted them to do their own thing. Woollim's CEO gave a interview in 2019 talking about that and their sound never changed after the merger so it isn't/wasn't really SM's influence.

I'm afraid I might not like the debut because IZ*ONE did too well in the past, but end up feel so satisfying with this debut, this song is catchy and keep growing each time you listen to it, others song in the album are fantastic as well, a whole package of IZ*ONE leader Kwon Eunbi, Amigo and Blue Eye my favourite, wishing our leader walking on the flower road.

Thildia

As a trumpet player I am glad that you are slowly creeping to the right side... We have better than cookies, we have vodka. Because yes, the myth that brass players are alcoholics is entirely true. We know how to throw a partayyyyy

JJ

OPEN album is amazing too. The album has as many good songs as the title song, Door. Plz react to this!

Thildia

On another note I wish we had more of this swing/band genre in kpop, such as 'Is who' by Minseo, which is a fantastic song for me. But as other musicians in this convo have said I am biased towards this style of music. Give me trumpets blasting and I'll howl like a wolf to the full moon

this song was an instant banger and also it just makes me really excited to see what everyone else from IZ*ONE is going to come out with

As a person that started with Infinite when they were the only idol group at Woollim and now follows basically every Woollim artist because I really like their sound overall I find it super funny that you described perfectly how I feel about them lol. Cause yeah they may lack in some areas but they make really good music. If they don't have inhouse producers at least they consistently work with the same producers...they worked a lot with YoonSang and Sweetune in the past and now the recurring names I see in their credits are Stardust, MosPick and now some Monotree too. It's been a long time since Woollim had a 100% pure solo artist (I do not consider Sunggyu, Woohyun, Kei and Sujeong trully solo artists there because yeah they gave all of them solos but all of them had groups to come back to after it) so I was worried how they would handle it but it seems Woollim is taking her solo career serious. I really hope they support her properly. And of course overall I really liked her debut and can't wait to see how she will grow as an artist since she also likes composing.

It's somehow very fitting that Eunbi, the former leader, debuted solo first

PD said we're getting txt tomorrow!!! very excited

Thank you so much PD! 🙏 All songs in this album are great! If you have time I hope you will make a listening party to Eunbi's album. 😊❤

seems like the sort of switch to a city pop-like chorus is the trend.....this song, somi, AKMU ft. IU.....it's sort of early last year's 70s/80s retro throwback. Now in this song the chorus switches to a more conventional chord structure and soundscape but the whole jazzy/swing vibe to synth seems to be a pattern this year

Edward Lee

Woolim seems to have always had good songwriters.....it's just all the other stuff they've had issues with in supporting and marketing their artists

BlooAS

Was not totally sure what direction Eunbi's solo would have taken cause her previous performances + her own songwriting have such a wide range = from like hard hitting dance tracks to ballads and the poppy b-sides like Spaceship. I am heavily digging this title track though with a mix of jazz/swing verses and the electro pop chorus that reminds me of Ariaz.
