I do think there's a time and place for haggling, and I personally wouldn't haggle in a shop like that, or ever really bc I'm definitely US-raised lmao (although I do think it was for the show tbh). But I will say, specifically in China (because I can't speak for any other east asian countries), if you DON'T haggle you're mostly getting ripped off. Like either you're VERY familiar with the general average price for things, or you should haggle in China at least (errr not for like name brands items). Because they're definitely expecting it so the prices fluctuate SO drastically sometimes. For example, hotel price listings online vs at third-party sites vs in person room pricing can all be different, usually on purpose aimed at what audience they're expecting at different sites -- if you tell them it's listed cheaper somewhere else, they'll adjust the price. Similarly, in general, you sort of haggle BECAUSE they're expecting it and if you don't, you're probably paying higher than market price. It IS different from your case, so I feel like it might be very much unique to China, but just a different perspective on why haggling is still persistent.

You asked how much money BP makes from their music and from what i've read it's 60% for the artist and 40% for the company (oversimplefied) I think it's the only company that lets their artists earn that much
