What I personally find really interesting is that Gangtae seems like such a "nice" person to everyone except Moonyoung. He is downright rude and says some things to her that someone in his job should NEVER tell someone he knows has mental problems. At this Point it's clear that she can see through his Fassade and he has no idea how to deal with any of it!

I don't know if this costume choice was intentional or not, but I noticed that when Gangtae was with Munyoung his shirt was untucked, however when he is seen with his brother his shirt is tucked in. That could parallel with him being open/carefree in a way with Munyoung that he cannot be with his brother.

There were two things I took from this episode. Mun young and her father and the story; Zombie Kid. Bawling at half 4 in the morning. What is sleep??!! What I found fascinating was her father was given all the attention after HE tried to choke HER and she was left on her own; as the victim. God, her smile shows so much pain. That really struck a chord with me And the story is exactly what you said, sometimes acceptance is such a big relief for those who can't even accept themselves. Parents sometimes tend to think love and affection can be compensated with materialistic things. But, a lot of the time, the only thing required is a hug or a simple 'I love you'. A parent's acceptance can change a person's life.

I've been wanting to watch this kdrama for the longest. I'm glad that I waited around to finally watch it here with PD because the commentary and insights into certain subtitles and cultural references is much better than me watching alone. Also, this must be a famous pizza place name for the friends of the protagonists because it's the same exact name as Sanchez's pizza restaurant in hotel del luna.
