Originally there were 7 to make it to TREASURE, but because of the demands and petitions of fans YG added Magnum which consisted of 6 members and in total both groups were going to form TREASURE13. However, because of the delay and the difference in music style and preference Ha Yoon Bin left and so TREASURE with 12 members debuted as a whole. I think the delay benefited TREASURE to build their team work and get to know each other better as individuals and artists. TREASURE members who trained less time were able to improve their skills as well. Now you can see how the maknae line is growing in front of us and the changes in their physique. I hope one day YGE has a special project in which reunites some of the YGTB trainees along with TREASURE. I cried when Seunghoon and YoonBin left and I’d love to see them perform with TREASURE one day. TT Thank you PD for reacting to YGTB. I cannot wait for TREASURE MAP!

I remember being so shocked that junghwan and jaehyuk made the final lineup they were definitely the least expected but they fit treasure so well now. Hi! Thanks for watching YGTB! As another comment says, The first seven were revealed quite a bit before the final 6 (which included yoonbin at the time). Seunghun and Byunggon left yg after the first line up announcement, which is likely why they couldn't debut the finalists in this episode. The announcement of having a second lineup only came after it was confirmed they had left as they both had instagram accounts. The reason why Yoshi and Asahi were added is thought to be so that they could have a strong fanbase in japan, but also some people said it was because Asahi can produce music (the likelihood of keita debuting was also talked about, but it felt unlikely at the time as treasure already had 4 rappers revealed, and I believe he also left beforehand) . Thank you for watching this, will you be doing more survival show reactions? With ENHYPEN’s debut coming up it would be interesting to see your thoughts on I-land and how it was done pretty differently to normal survival shows and how it was more based on potential and growth compared to popularity and skills

The emotional stakes were definitely high when I was watching it live hahah, especially when I thought Mashiho, my definite fave when I was watching Treasure Box, didn't end up making it into the group after the 7 members were revealed. A lot of tears were shed lol... Treasure Box was a huge emotional rollercoaster for sure and not always in the best way, it would've been nice to know at the time that Mashiho would end up making it hahah. Also, great to hear that you're going to watch Treasure Map! It will show you their great teamwork and growth as a group, plus the members are just really funny :) For me personally, and probably other Teumes as well, it was a great way to get to know and appreciate the members whom I admittedly was a bit iffy about at first. Anyways, thank you for reacting to Treasure Box! It was nice to see your reaction to it.

i enjoyed rewatching the series a lot with you so thanks for doing this 💖 i also watched it like last year when the members were already announced and i kinda wanted to know what it would be lile not to know but at the same time i'm glad i knew just because i wouldnt have been able to handle the stress of not knowing who would devut lmao anyway this was amazing and im already excited for drama club & treasure map

For your last question that why Asahi got into the final line-up, many fans actually got confused also in the beginning. Yet, seeing Asahi's growth in the Treasure Box and Treasure Map, all the fans understood why YG took such a bold move initially. Asahi had a strong reverse charisma off-stage and on-stage. He is a great composer that takes a different lo-fi style of music that neither Yedam nor Hyunsuk composes music in his way. That is why YG releases Treasure's first member-composed music written by Asahi himself. I think Asahi and all the composers of Treasure will reset the current K-pop culture.

And this is what the original Treasure 7 line-up lacks. They have great members that are able to compose their own music like Yedam and Hyunsuk and even Haruto as a lyrics writer. Yet, their music style takes a more western side of music and this makes YG worried. They need a member that can compose more K-pop music vibe (and have good looks too). And this makes YG take Asahi back even he got eliminated in the middle part. YG wants members with more potential that no one sees at first sight. And I think this is what makes YG produces such a great successful music brand (not a great management brand though), they took a bold move selecting debut members to risk it. And ultimately high-risk, high-reward from the public responses after every time YG groups debut.

seunghun is pretty close with the mc of yg. in an interview cix did with him later he said that seunghun told him that before ygtb that he decided that if he didnt get in he would give up on being an idol and find a different job. im not sure what changed seunghuns mind, but he ended up convincing byounggon, who was also ready to quit, to debut with him. ygtb seemed really emotionally exhausting for seunghun and is a painful memory as a fan, but im so thankful that for whatever reason it convinced him to continue being an idol!!!!

I do find it interesting how the 13 member lineup at the beginning of the episode was different from the end 13 members that actually made it to Treasure. I wonder why certain members like Byounggon or Seunghun were let go in the end even when they were the final contestants while the others made it. Why couldn't the 13 members in this episode go through? Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing the treasure succeed :)

Hi PD! Thanks so much for reacting to this, definitely had a blast following along! My fave was Mashiho watching this live, and it was honestly heartbreaking at the time when he wasn't announced as part of the final 7 :( a lot of fans were actually pretty upset about Mashiho too (YGTB Twitter account was in shambles due to all the protests lol, since he came in first at the online/live votings and yet didn't make it), and ofc many thought that more than just the 7 were deserving of debut (I remember Junghwan and Jaehyuk receiving a ton of hate at the time, and I'm SO glad they've gone and proven all the doubters wrong! They fit perfectly in Treasure now). So due to the feedback of fans, not shortly after, YG announced a 2nd lineup MAGNUM (with members Yoonbin, Mashiho, Jihoon, Doyoung, Asahi and Yoshi). I think they were created partly to cater to the Japanese fanbase, which was (and still is!) very strong, which is likely why YG chose to add Yoshi (strong rapper with decent fanbase) and Asahi (great visuals and music producing skills) despite being previously eliminated. Magnum and Treasure units were supposed to promote together as Treasure 13, and also as separate units, but when Yoonbin left due to a clash in music tastes / direction, Magnum and Treasure were combined into the Treasure it is now :D so proud of them, they received their first ROTY at AAA yesterday! Hope that helps ya understand the post-YGTB happenings a bit more! Can't wait for you to react to Treasure Map :D the boys are wonderfully charismatic and fun to watch. Woah! I didn't expect to really enjoy rewatching this series with you PD. I truly appreciate you taking the time to get to know the members. I've watched YGTB at least 5x in full now but watching it with you refreshed some of the emotions I felt during my first watch. Thank you for reacting to this emotional roller-coaster of a show. TREASURE has been one of the only groups I was able to follow pre-debut besides 2NE1 so they're really precious to me. I'm glad more and more people will see their talents and potential as the years go by.

i never watched treasure box before so it was really fun to watch it with you and i didnt expect to be so emotional in some parts even tho i knew what was coming lol and im so happy youre gonna watch treasure map next because its so funny and then you will really get to know each of them better and better as each episode go by, i love that series so much and i think you will for sure enjoy it as well!

I will never forget the amount of stress that I felt watching this 2 years ago. Been following these boys since day 1 and it's pretty weird how my least favorite members during YGTB are now my top favorites. Knowing them thru TREASURE MAP was a big factor so I'm glad you're checking it out PD. Will look forward to TMAP reaction :)

I can't wait to watch the treasure map eps again,, they are so fun to watch and even though i have stanned treasure since ygtb i was mainly jeongwoo and mashiho biased. After watching all the treasure map eps i've grown to love all the members and struggle to pick biases until now

Asahi got chosen because Seunghun and Byounggon were both communicating with C9 ent as soon as the show ended and they ended up leaving YG for C9 ent before the second lineup was announced. I believe Yeongue is still a trainee. Junhyuk(the child rapper) left Yg to study in Australia(he also had a Yt channel now: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7sfvlrnySmbbdSKd4A2mqQ and a lot of others are trainees under other companies or have already debuted elsewhere

because seunghun and byounggon together made plans to leave yg before the final line up was announced and I think because at the time online there was a lot of outrage that they were going for just 7 and about the way the show was ran and the treatment of the trainees, i think then people exploded and lowkey forced them to add other members so they ended up creating another group and some left yg so that skewed it a bit ,so the original plan was for 2 groups to debut but eventually they scrapped it and combined them, up until treasure's debut it was treasure 13 but yoonbin left so they made it treasure. ( this is just from my prospective of what happened when it aired because yg seemed reluctant to have a big group but so more people were upset than happy with the result so for the sake of treasure being successful they gave in and added more)

I'm rewatching this again bc I never saw your reaction to it and I honestly think yg was scared to debut a bg with this many members but ultimately he decided to do it anyway and I'm so glad. It still hurts to see bx and seunghun not make it but after becoming a fan of cix, god they fit in there so much better than treasure and I'm glad they stayed together 😭 I think seunghuns talent can be showcased so much better in cix and he improved so much, I think it did him good that the pressure of constantly seeking approval from yg was gone. And yg really didnt appreciate his talents enough
