I've never clicked so fast lmfao. so in a livestream, yoongi said that the king agust d is agust d from 4 years ago and his name is "rage". that's the only explanation he's given us other than him being heavily involved planning the mv. oh, also the fact that they intentionally didn't show the king being shot, so the viewers don't know whether the king actually died or not. also fun fact, the gun model he uses is a Colt 45 ARMY 😭

Jin and Jungkook were hilarious. My take was that the king was the real slave: a slave to gold, power, and perhaps his own ambitions/desires and that the more modern, 'rougher' looking Agust D is the true king: a common person who lives amongst the people, not above them.

Suga looks so hot in this MV! Suga said that the story is about his old self (king) vs his present self. He said to not pay attention to the lyrics for this title track and just enjoy the auditory feel of the song. He said he wanted to have a scar for the mv and the sword. He mentioned many other things in the interview . I think He wants to go back to the boy who had dreams or going back to his humble beginning

there are many theories for this MV, but my favorite one is that the old blonde Agust D rose to power and became a mad king so "current" Agust D traveled to the past to kill him as a reminder to not let fame and power corrupt him

aaaah I've been waiting for so long, I'm so glad your reaction is finally here! I actually had a very similar interpretation that yoongi has two sides/personalities - one has been corrupted by the fame and power he holds and the other is the yoongi that remembers his roots. King yoongi is tyrannical and rules with an iron fist, while the lower class yoongi leads through having support from the people. Theres a small detail explaining that the reason that yoongi survives his execution is because he knows and has an agreement with the butcher/executioner that we see take place at the start of the video, so instead of killing him the executioner frees him so that he can take down the king and therefore metaphorically rid himself of that corrupt and tyrannical personality. In that sense, he's able to maintain a more grounded outlook thanks to the support of the people around him who keep him in check and yet also give him his power in the first place There's other interpretations too, of course, and I'm still very curious about how everyone is thinking about the blend of modern and traditional elements (beyond that it looks cool lol)
