So if youā€™ve kept up with the saga of my computer the past week, itā€™s been going through some issues and corrupting everything I record. I really didnā€™t want to replace my computer (it would cost around 6K to replace and future proof it) so I ordered a few things and tried some work arounds.

Parts arrived today and unfortunately the work arounds donā€™t work. I donā€™t have the budget to get a full replacement for my computer/future proof it so Iā€™ve just decided to get a mid tier replacement with similar specs as I currently have.

Iā€™ve already gone ahead and just made the purchase and picked it up (setting it up now). But it was a big purchase last minute (apprx 3k) so itā€™s a bit rough on the finances.

Two people already reached out about helping with donating and it was very touching given that it was unsolicited. So if anyone wants to help out, itā€™d be appreciated.

BUT I NEED TO PREFACE

-This is not a requirement. This does not mean I cannot makes videos. I will still resume making videos and will be out tomorrow. This does not mean I cannot pay rent or feed myself. I have food for the month and I have exact the amount I need for rent. If you are enduring financial hardship during this quarantine you do NOT need to donate. Iā€™m just in a position where my finances are also a bit difficult (people cancelling Patreon/lowering their tier due to COVID-19) but I am OKAY and will not die/go homeless/starve/not be able to produce content. This is JUST if you guys want to help relieve some of the financial burden.

We lost a big chunk of Patrons with the start of this new month (a bit surprisingly so) or had people lower their tiers so itā€™s been a bit rough. Now I need to preface (because some people have messaged me apologizing for lowering their patronage or leaving their patronage) DO NOT FEEL BAD. Times are tough and I get it; do not ever feel bad if you take a break, lower your pledge or leave altogether. I am always grateful for ANY kind of support you guys give me, no matter how long or short. So please donā€™t ever feel bad or feel like you have to explain yourself.

Iā€™m getting ready to donate again just because I currently have a decent cash flow flowing in (and im thankful for that) and I love being able to support in any ways I can :) We will all get through this PD~

You have a lot of patrons now PD. Quite a few now, can't you use that money for a new computer? I know the cost of living can be expensive in many areas but you have nearly 2k patrons now. Even if everyone that is a patron was on the lowest tier (which is unlikely) thats still close to $4k a month.

Sure! I used all of my disposable income to get the computer. As I mentioned above, not saying I canā€™t get it (which I did) I just had to spend everything I had + what I was saving to get it but I did it. And for reference, I still have bills to pay and I pay roughly $6k~$7k a month. Iā€™m also helping my family out as their business is pretty much going under due to COVID-19

Just want to know but corruption of files is usually a hard drive issue and a simple hard drive swap usually fixes it but sometimes that may not be the issue. I had this problem a few months ago and i just needed to swap in a new hard drive and that fixed it

Well it's corrupting my direct recordings because of a CPU issue. My computer keeps overloading even from the simplest of actions!

Is your computer louder then normal and do you hear your fans ramping up because if that is the case it is probably an overheating issue

PD, if you ever need help with PC stuff (even though you got a new one) I've been a PC tech since i was 16 (23 now) and am always willing to help. I can even help over Skype/Discord, etc.
