Production shut down due to Corona virus concerns (Patreon)

Hey guys so I wanted to update everyone on the status of some of our productions, specifically my short film productions because I know many of you are very supportive of those projects and looking forward to them.

Unfortunately, due to the spread of the Corona virus here in the U.S., I'm making the decision to shut down any big productions I had in the pipeline. A lot of them were merely in preproduction stages so it's not a big loss but we had a short film that we had paid actors and needed reshoots for that we're ultimately shutting down. The concern comes from various variables and I'll be quick in explaining some of them.

1. The production got too expensive. Unfortunately, I hired a very bad DP and I listened to his VERY wrong advice and he kept making me pump money into this project. For these reshoots he wanted me to pour in even MORE money and I just could not justify those costs. Which brings me to my second issue.

2. I had to force my DP out of our production. In case you're not familiar with the term, a DP is a Director of Photography and is essentially the visual leader of the film along with the cinematography. However, we had many issues with this person. One, he was both incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional with his behavior regarding our production and he was building a VERY bad reputation off set as well with our community of friends. Let's just say he has a very very bad way with women and has both crossed the line with me, and multiple women in our production and in my personal life. He had to go. I should have fired him after the first infraction but I thought he was "my friend" until he crossed the line with my partner as well. Not only that but his work was not up to par and some of the shots were down right UGLY. I owe it to you guys to put out a beautiful product so I demanded reshoots for that very reason.

3. And then there's the matter of the Corona virus. If you're unaware, I live in Koreatown and we're one of the first hot zones for the Corona outbreak due to a Korean flight attendant. And because most of our cast and crew were Korean/Asian, it would just be impossible to know who visited and didn't visit those popular infected areas so for health reasons I can't move forward with putting together a big production.

What does this mean?

Does that mean no short films? Absolutely not. I'm going to start up another project but just know that these projects will be smaller in scale and unfortunately not the big scale productions I initially wanted to do. I will most likely film all of the shorts myself and only have two crew members in one PA and one sound operator. We're going to keep it small and just put out small little projects to show you guys a little taste of what I can do until the Corona pandemic passes.
