The thing about marketing does not have to be related to “these days Kpop”, I think title tracks are still different and meant to be the “promotion” for the group. The thing you are talking about is that specific kind of b-sides, which might have been originally meant to be title tracks, but: 1) They chose not to 2) They change their mind during the production still, therefore the song has “small vibes/hints” of possibly being a title track. And this thing you can find in many cases of Kpop. With xikers it may feel like “their marketing”, because it happened in two comebacks in a row, but it is simply a coincidence. Regarding your comparisons to aespa and TWS… Well, I see your point there, but on the other hand TWS had their first comeback, therefore anything that can bring attention to their release after the pre-release is worth it and in the case of aespa… the thing is it was their (finally) first full length album, so they went full on. But it would be definitely interesting if this “release concept” started to be applied more and more.
