Tales say that Hecate was the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts and necromancy. She was the only child of the Titanes Perses and Asteria. She received her power over heaven, earth, and sea as a bonus (blame the DNA). In pictures, this is usually portrayed as a woman with three faces.

Notably Hecate assisted Demeter in her search for Persephone, guiding her through the night with flaming torches. This is Ryan as Hecate, with some bright neon hair. It will do!

This is a gem of a painting, and kind of weird.

What a cool pose!

The look! Wait, which one?

Partially painted.

A really pretty progress shot.

And a dramatic ending! Never a dull moment over here.

Love and Art,

Brandon

P.S. The post may have originally said "Hecates" instead of Hectate. That's because my brain wants to say this like "Hercules!"

This is brilliant, beautiful, and haunting, Brandon! I think Hecate herself would be flattered.
