Patreon/Apple Reminder (Patreon)

In August 2024, Patreon let us know that Apple is requiring Patreon to use its in-app purchase system for all future membership and product purchases made in the iOS app. Patreon will begin rolling out iOS in-app purchases in November 2024.  This means that memberships (everywhere on patreon) purchased through iOS In-App will have a 30% up-charge from Apple. So to be as blunt as possible, that means you shouldn't use the iOS to purchase any new memberships in the patreon application. This will not affect active memberships.

It's unfortunate and hopefully not too disruptive. If you want to avoid these new charges, just don't purchase new memberships in-app. I have no control over this, I just want to make sure we have transparency over what will be rolling out from Patreon/Apple over the next month and year.
