Ony's brushies! (Patreon)
Content
I'm pretty sure the question artists' get asked the most is "what brushes do you use?" followed by "how long does art take?" and "how many exposures does a piece like this cost?"
While brushes don't make or break a piece of art, they can definitely make a major difference to your work flow. Like any tool, it's about finding the one that clicks for you - which may not be at all the one that clicks for artists' you like or want to paint like, as we all use different techniques even if we're using the same brush.
That said, I've always been more than happy to share mine - which is mostly a curated collection of the brushes I've downloaded or modified myself over the span of a decade - in the hopes people will find something that works for them here.
So to make sharing them a little easier for anyone who's just tuning in now, here are a couple of links for your convenience!
----
Onyrica's brushes (Photoshop .abr files)
There's quite a few files in this folder. My core brushes are the ones labeled "Masterbrushes 2021". The others are novelty brushes I made myself as past rewards on Patreon. As it's been quite a few years since I made these, I figured I may as well share these openly now and make any future brushes a patron exclusive.
Along with the brushes, you can also find an image explaining the steps to install them. Please note that these are all made for Photoshop and while they might be compatible with CSP or Procreate, I can't guarantee the effects or calibration will transfer over.
Onyrica's textures (.jpg and .png files)
These are a bunch of textures I've made over the years to use as overlays on my artwork. The best way to use textures is to set them over your art as a new layer and then adjust the opacity and blending mode (multiply, color burn, overlay and divide usually work best) to create interesting visual effects. It takes some finagling but it can yield pretty interesting results.
Like above, these used to be Patreon rewards before I discontinued them. If there's any interest in these going forward, I shall continue to post them as a patron exclusive.
----
As a sidenote, I don't use CSP but I do use Procreate a lot. The brushes I use there as a combination of the default ones along with the Jingsketch set which you can buy here.
I hope these help you in your artistic journey. As usual let me know in the comments or DMs if you have any questions (or suggestions!).
Happy brushing!
