I think that this is definitely the better of the first 3 episodes. I would mark it as one of the better episodes of this series. Plenty to like in this one and one or two things that detract from it's great potential. That's speaking for my personal tastes rather than a more objective opinion. It's not the direction I would have gone for the story and villian of the piece. We might argue that racism is the real villian of the piece. So with that, I'd have gone with them being the one to have nudged events of course and would have removed the on the nose unimaginative monster, that you have basically forgotten in the final moments; because of course it's more about Rosa. We could make the argument, that is the point. His inclusion just feels lacklustre. While the balance of having a classic Who villian, than could certainly detract from seriousness of the events. Going for a half-arsed 5 second consideration, for me, leaves this one scaled down slightly from a hugely possible 9.5 rating to about a 7ish. So not necessarily bad, but maybe ill-conceived, like a number of things in this era. Great singular moments that help to shape the intended identify and direction of this era. But like many of the stories ahead, collectively, it feels less robust than I'd have liked; narratively speaking.

Definitely the better of series 11. I'm not a huge fan of the episodes that take place in the past but episodes like this show why they can work so well with a blend of good ole sci-fi!
