Personally I've always considered seasons 7 and 8 as a necessary evil for the show. It sets up things for the future seasons, hopefully you'll catch later. But season 9 knocks it out of the park for me. And you're right, they weren't showing Abaddon off in a "ooh look Hot Demon!" way, but they did show off Jensen's tan and freckles! LOL

Really solid episode. Love having Kevin back, and Dean becoming slightly more comfortable telling people how important they are. Each time Jared does switch between Sam and Ezekiel does actually feel very authentic to me. Crowley is strong as always. Exploring different dimensions of him is fantastic. While I did state that season 8 was one of my favorite finales, I do see how seasons 9 and 10 are overall extremely strong in structure. I did think of Garth during the Kevin Solo scene, but loved the scene completely. Such great dynamics to come.

I think that they should watch supernatural more often. One reason being that they would only get through like 2 seasons a year at the current pace.

Dean speech felt a little like gaslighting. If the roles were reverse and Sam was possibly alive getting tortured we know dean would not just drop it. Dean talks about family but kevin told him his actual family could be in danger and instead dean guilt tripped him like he does with Sam into staying even though that is not really what they wanted that is what HE wanted. Zeke mentioned to dean that Sam said yes to him because Sam believed dean was doing it out of love. But was it for Sam or dean's own need to have sam around. Burnout does happen when watching supernatural. Especially the filler monster of the week episodes but i feel like you guys do not dive deep into the messages those monsters of the weeks are saying about the season arc or sam and dean as characters so they are alittle harder to deal with. For example last season and Sam arc was not clear to you because most of the filler episodes you did not care for. But it was clear as to why Sam was so desperate to do the trials but you guys could not see the progression of that desperation and guilt that dean keep throwing Sam way making him desperate. You just got to the end result and wondered how it got that far. The monsters of the week may suck but there is always some parallel or meaning to it that ties into the main plot in some way.

yesssir the dean arch in those 2 seasons is probably one of my favorite plots of the entire show
