Lol I mean Aang connected with roku and roku showed him exact scenes of his past to help Aang lol he even showed him his death to show Aang exactly how the war started lol so it kind of is basically how it works😂 lol even Kiyoshi showed Aang exactly wat happened to get him out of his little court case yea it’s convenient but it’s not anything we haven’t seen before with the past avatars

One thing that's for sure about LoK is that they have some awesome villains!

This is one of my favorite episodes not only of this season but the entire show. This episode mirrors 3x6 of ATLA (The Avatar and the Firelord) with one storyline following an investigation in present day and the Avatar being shown a vision of the past. Then, they ultimately converge with a familial revelation.

Aang literally watched Roku’s entire life. And he saw the day that Kyoshi killed that guy.

Bro Aang literally had Netflix for Roku's life what is she talking about lol

Once y’all reach the end of this season, I think the faster pace will make a lot more sense. Already as you probably see the seasons are much shorter than the first show, and this isn’t necessarily a big three act epic like Aang’s story was. It’s one of the biggest differences between the two and it does make this show feel significantly faster than the first. While it does mean story beats can happen quickly and sometimes conveniently, it also means there’s a lot less filler escapades and a lot more just intense momentum and escalation to the storytelling.

I personally like that Olivia gives Korra a hard time because she represents alot of people's views upon first adjusting to Korra. I don't agree with her, I think Korra is actually a MUCH deeper and layered character than Aang because her arc requires her to change herself whereas Aang's arc is far less personal of a journey. Part of that is due to the writing pacing of the shorter seasons and part of that is due to the personality differences between the Avatars. I think it's important to just remember that Aang was given guidance by other Avatars and the world, by and large, WANTED him. Korra is living in a world where the Avatar wasn't missed, wasn't looked to as hope, and she lived in the shadow of a legend. Aang always strove to resolve problems through peaceful dialogue, but his problems often required him to resolve them physically. Korra has a much more complex issues (solve inequality) and while she's great at physical negotiations, she is learning how to do the dialogue. I will never not find it amazing how a simple character invert causes so many differing opinions.
