I thought you would like this one. I agree with you on how great their guest stars are. Every actor they get just knocks it out of the park. I was not raised religious so the idea of confession always seemed invasive instead of cathartic. This episode sparked a years long pattern of my friend (the same friend that is the other half of my Black and Tan duo) and I sneaking up to the other one and going, "boom boom boom whatever random object." We have been slipping on that so guess who just got an audio message... I don't really know what to tell you to bring to the next episode. Maybe a tassel if you happen to have one around. If no random tassel then bring the tassel in your heart.

Love Father Westley, hallelujah Psych had another great guest star 🍺, also Psych is really great at paying homage to cinema classics! There will be a couple of other tribute episodes this season, some of which are also horror-ish themed. 🍍Hey, it may have been an easy one, but a win is a win. But next ep is a hard one to spot, if you can do that then that's a "big win". Clue: it's at 3 o'clock. Sadly I don't have any trivia for this ep. 😔 To make up for it I'll give some unrelated highlights from the 1s epsiode of "The PSYCHologists" Podcast with Maggie Lawson & Timothy Omundson and guest Steve Franks. Plenty of interesting stories of how Psych came to be, and the origins of character traits like "the super sniffer" who's actually a Steve Franks possessed talent, and how Franks' father was a cop that used to teach and train him exactly like Henry did with Shawn. Such a fun listen that showed me once again what an incredibly passionate group of individuals the cast of Psych are.

Ray Wise is always good in anything he is in. So good he leaves you wanting more. This episode was really good. Psych is always on point with their musical cues. And Tubular Bells is a mic drop. The spider walk is a classic reference not everyone gets. You have to know The Exorcist for that one. But the best past is Gus saying "says the guy with that picture on his desk". Classic... "Boom boom boom... MUFFINS!"

The first time I saw this episode I was in the middle of watching the show Reaper where Ray Wise played the devil so was weird seeing him as a priest. Love the tribute to the Exorcist.

Hi John! I finally caught up to your Psych reactions, so I can start commenting now ;) That's one of the few Psych episodes I really don't like, mostly because of how lazy the writers were in regard to Catholicism and its stand of exorcisms, especially since they started with stressing that "Hollywood" gets everything wrong. 1. No Catholic priest would ever wear a rosary around his neck. It's not a necklace and moreover it's not a part of a liturgical attire which we see here. 2. Exorcisms can be performed only with the approval of the bishop, by a specifically designated priest. 3. Exorcist has to have a permission of the person who's about to be exorcised and the ritual has to take placed in a proper place (church, chapel – not a private house) 4. Before determining the exorcism is needed, the priest has to get broad consultations: medical, psychological, psychiatric. 5. The seal of confession is absolute. Even more than attorney-client privilege. There are no circumstances under which a priest can divulge any details or clues about a sacrament of penance. Doing so results in the automatic (latae sententiae, ie. "by force of the law itself") excommunication. The Proverb clue is a direct breach of the seal of confession and a priest who acted this way, would be automatically excommunicated.
