The angels falling is beautifully terrifying!

The link doesn't seem to be working for reaction highlights.

Agree with your comments. Actually, I think this is one of SPN's strongest ever finales. So much going on, yet it doesn't feel all crammed in. I love the Sam/Dean scene in the barn, and Mark puts in a great performance too. If you're finding the thought of 7 more seasons a lot to take in at one go, why not take a break at the end of the current arc? (Carver era ended at the end of Season 11). You can come back to it later.

I know they were joking about letting Jody die... but I had a visceral reaction. I love all their ridiculous, sarcastic commentary but in that moment I felt like a nun with a ruler yelling 'watch your tongues, boys!'

Overall I liked this season and to me the show found it's footing again after a disappointing season 7. I feel the Men of Letters story line gave the show purpose again and opens up a lot of things for the show to explore.

It's really hard to figure out rankings, but this has to be one of my favorite finale's of the series. Every actor is completely on their game. Overall, I really love the Carver era (seasons 8-11) for character work and arching plots, barring a couple questionable writing decisions. The visual of the angels falling is so powerful. Crowley and Sam in the church are both incredible. The cupid scene is perfectly funny with Dean's short circuit. Metatron is such a fascinating character. I'm just rambling now, but this was dynamic and got me excited for the next couple seasons for sure.

Honestly, I've waited for season 7 and 8 to be over. Not that I don't like them, but they are my least favorite of all the seasons. I'm really excited for you guys to get into 9 though, because it's one of my favorites. I love the over all arc with Dean. I appreciate you guys and I can't wait.

I so agree with being excited for season 9 and all the Dean stuff!!

Is anyone else having issues opening this link?

Sorry about that!! Settings should be updated now -- been tinkering under the hood lately with where & how we host these. Hope that solves it!

Should be working now!! Been making some adjustments under the hood -- sorry for any inconvenience!!

Super late to this, and I don't know if you read late comments, but I love your reactions! I actually was somewhat disappointed in that Sam-Dean scene. It was beautifully acted, but Sam doesn't say he feels unloved, he says he feels like Dean doesn't trust him to have his back. That makes sense as a capper to a season filled with Dean tearing Sam a new one for choosing to let go and move on when he thought Dean was dead, reminding Sam of past mistakes, demanding Sam not do the trials, demanding Sam stay home during hunts, and Sam overhearing him say to Cas that he needs a chaperone. Dean doesn't ALWAYS mean those things to be read as a lack of trust, but I can see how Sam read all of it that way. He started the trials wanting to live through it, and ended them totally fine with dying. I loved that Sam finally addresses how the way Dean was treating him torn down his self-esteem in this scene. But then Dean's response is "I will always put you first" -- which isn't "I do trust you, and I do think you have my back." So that scene as written felt off to me: it felt like they were having two different conversations. But it was acted beautifully.
