The Legend Of Korra Episode 6 Watch Along!!

Without going into too much detail, we have to change the way we do the watch alongs - some vimeo shenanigans in a gist. Sorry for the change. Basically there's no more audio in background, might be able to hear it from our headphones, but we leave the footage on screen muted (with a timer) for about 20 seconds so you can be sure you're syncing up proper. Still a sync along & such, just a different process to doing it

If you guys are gonna skip the intro then at least make sure for the next episode to watch the intro cause the recap is different but important. And at the premire of each new season cause otherwise you won't see certain stuff they don't put in the show.

Korra definitely wasn't kicking ass left and right. Here sure, but she's gotten bested a ton. But fighting is literally her first instinct. Partly why she's flawed cause there's moments to fight and moments to not But either way it's always punch my way out. But she is 17 just keep that in mind.

It's totally fine if you don't want to watch the intro. I just think that narration guy and his commentary skills are hilarious 😂 but just those episodes I mentioned are the crucial ones for the recap.

I disagree with the points about Korra having no depth. Keep in mind she's had a lot more training than Aang did in Avatar, and Aang seemed to be super naturally wise and good at airbending, more than he had a right to be at 12. That's why the fights seem easy for her, but that will NOT always be the case. She goes through some amazing growth and is my favorite character in the Avatar universe other than Iroh.

***I apologize in advance for the long post. But I have been thinking about this a lot while watching your reactions. As well as someone who grew up with both shows*** How I see both A.T.L.A. and L.O.K. is that they aren’t exactly shows following one character. They are more of ensemble type shows. So episodes like this, where we don’t dive too deep into her development and personal character, I take it as the show trying to shine more of a light on the other characters like Amon. I thought rather than dwelling on her fear here, it’s more about the fear/point Amon is making to the people. And to show how well planned and skilled his people are. This pretty much sets up the stakes from here on in. And as for the first 5 episodes. Those, to me, were to develop the relationship between the characters. Even if not much plot happened, those episodes set up who the characters are as people and who they are to each other. That way through out the rest of the season we don’t have to go backwards at all and set things up in the middle of the plot. *if you read the whole thing….you’re amazing! 😊*
