haven’t commented much but I’ve been loving these reaction since you started. And this episode is my favorite, my moms and my gfs, it’s just so good and so cathartic. It’s honestly amazing that these epilogue seasons, as I like to call them, have just as much character deployment and exploration as the rest of the show

Yes! Favorite episode. In the words of Cal... best day ever!

This is one of those episodes that AoS does so well. In other shows Enoch's rescue of FitzSimmons would have been a sub-plot within the episode, but not AoS. We have such an affinity with the characters and they have such a wealth of history to pull from, this episode is able to come into being. It kinda remind me of the script for the Lord of the Rings films where, when it came to a fight scene, Fran Walsh and Phillippa Boyens wrote 'and then they fought' knowing that Peter Jackson would come up with those scenes. JedMo told DJ Doyle, the writer, that FitzSimmons are trapped in a mind prison...and he came up with this episode. So many great scenes in this episode, loved seeing Lil and Iain play their first season personas, the containment pod argument was fantasic and probably exactly what they needed. Loved the lines that were said when we were outside the pod looking in... F: Oh, you're so English...and orderly. J: Yeah, you said that before. Please elaborate. What does that even mean? F: Prim and proper and bottled up... J: How is that even an insult? F: ...and holier than thou, but actually, J: Oh! My god. ...Right, yeah, how Scottish of you to pick a fight on those grounds! But the best scene was the Fitz finding out he had died, which has beautifully written and acted. The way they weaved the 'secondary' conversation after Fitz's body was recovered and the teams reaction to it with Simmons explaining to Fitz what had happened. And lastly, not not leastly, we get to see how Simmons copes with adversities. Many peoples were saying why didnt she have PTSD after returning from Maveth, falling out of a plane or even being in the Framework. She does it by bottling it up like we self respecting Englishers tend to do! BTW, apologies for the War & Peace reply...

While I enjoy most AOS episodes and certainly appreciate so many of the hidden elements we enjoy upon rewatch, it's episodes like this one where we truly get the major payoffs to all the years of character development. We see that through these that the writers / show runners don't treat our characters as props that serve that weeks plot but the consequences of the episode are soon forgotten. Instead those events and the dialog references become lasting elements of the person.

My favorite episode of season 6. Such a fun way to catch fitz up while simultaneously moving things forward with enoch arc. I know the simmons zombie was shocking but actually if you look at her everything about her is a callback to simmons traumas and it makes sense to be the personification. She is wet from the ocean in season 1. She is wearing the shirt from Maveth the alien planet and the stick was her weapon. She is a zombie because in the framework she was buried and came back to life. The robes and gold makeup are from her time with kasius in season 5 space arc. And she hung fitz up like the alien in 6x1. I was say this episode is important to season 7 in surprising ways. Everything being shown is meaningful to the conclusion of the show and i can not wait for you to see it. While i will say season 6 and 7 main plot and villians are not the best we have had , the character stories and conclusion are great. When in doubt trust the writers. In season 5 fitz could not reconcile the parts of his mind and had a break because of it. He was so afraid of simmons not loving that side. But now he sees she has her own darkest and they are both alittle crazy. They belong together. The good and the bad.
