Hi guys ❤️ I know it's been 2 years since you uploaded this video... but I just wanted to say- thank you. Because you've made me so so happy in those couple of weeks. Btw, I'll be happy to see you guys reacting to "Dragon Prince". It's an amazing show. The voice actor of Sokka dubs the main character. Hope you'll have a nice day! - Danielle

YES DO LEGEND OF KORRA NEXT!!

Elle B.

Wow! I can’t believe you guys did all four, most reactors split them up. Lol I haven’t watched your reaction in full yet, but I highly recommend a rewatch! I think you’ll pick up on things you missed the first time. This is like my 6th time watching it through. Oh and Zuko’s mom’s story was done in a follow-up comic book called The Search. The creators originally wanted to make it a follow up film but couldn’t get the studio on board, if I remember correctly. (Someone will say something if I’m wrong). Greg, I think you will love Korra and its villains. Thank you for watching this series and I’m glad you enjoyed it overall. ❤️ Hopefully when you get free time you can take a deep dive into some of the big analysis vids on youtube on the characters and worldbuilding.

If you were to do The Legend of Korra, I would not suggest going straight into it. Fans who watched this live had several years to digest ATLA. I would give it a few months so you can reflect. I know a few people go straight into TLOK and they are thrown for a loop. It is not a direct sequel, so don't expect it to pick up right after this episode. If you want something to feed your Avatar appetite, there are several graphic novels that act as a fourth season for this show and wrap up the hanging plot threads.

The finale was good but I agree with the little cons you both noticed within it. I agree with Olivia in that Zuko defeating Azula on his own would have been better for his character AND it had no impact on Katara’s character imo so she had no reason to be there. It would have been better for her to be with the others supporting Aang, since it has been established that she is his main support. AND, I also never felt the chemistry between the two. Their age difference is not much but their maturity levels are so different that it always felt like an older/younger sibling relationship to me. And I agree with Greg in the aspect that I felt that the Fire Lord should have been developed more. I am a huge fan of story telling through showing and not telling and I think that besides his backstory with Zuko, we never get to see him being evil so it was hard to feared him at the end. Azula was a much better villain imo. My biggest pet peeve was the “no killing” dilemma. It has been three seasons of them planning to kill the Fire Lord and suddenly last minute Aang has this moral dilemma out of nowhere. It wasn’t out of character BUT I feel like they should have explored his conflict with killing from the beginning of the show. Plus, I HATED that turtle-lion…it was such a convenient plot device when it suddenly appeared. Having said that, I still enjoyed the finale a lot and wished they would have made a S4 to tie up the lose ends left…I especially would have liked to see how Zuko managed to bring honor to the fire nation again. I hope we get to see Olivia react to more shows. She has amazing insights imo and her perspective is usually unique compared to other reactors. Thanks for this reactions! 🤩💕

There is a series of graphic novels made that serve as a continuation of the series. It picks up right after the Season 3 finale and end right before the legend of korra era. They're badass and will answer the finals questions you had at the end. Hell of series to react to, enjoyed every moment of it.

Disagree, what about the murder of the previous fire lord? His armies tooknover other nations. In the episode where Ang went to school and this school showed how he manipulated the nation and how history was twisted. He controlled the version of history being taught to his people. He wiped out the air nation. He betrayed his friend and became obsessed with power. He burned Zuko’s eye. He really was going to consider killing his only son. He purposely plotted the murder of Iroh’s son in the previous war. Also it’s a kids show they can only infer the situation and not actually show the death and violence.

Please watch Legend of Korra. Outside of some slow pacing in season 2 it’s a great show that teaches more mature lessons that are tangental to societal issues in the world today.

I highly recommend this video essay on the psychology of Azula! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4544ZUr_gA

Ive loved watching your guys reactions to a show ive loved since my childhood ! Legend of korra isn't ad good as ATLA, tho it is still a great series and vastly extends lore

I'm so glad you made it to the end!! I loved watching y'all experience one of my all time favorite shows for the first time. I always get emotional for the finale and I'm in love with the music that accompanies the finale. I agree with Olivia about not loving Katara's acceptance of her relationship with Aang but that's because I never really went for that relationship in the first place. If you do start Legend of Korra, I'd highly recommend it but I definitely don't love it as much as the original series. I don't want to spoil anything but I think you can know that some time has passed in-universe between the two series. For Olivia since she has such a long commute, there's a new podcast called Avatar: Braving the Elements where the voice of Zuko and Korra are working their way through the original series and discussing each episode. I don't recall any spoilers for LoK in it but maybe someone can confirm. I loved following this journey and I hope we get to see more of Olivia soon! Good luck with the new job!

Definitely hope y’all do Legend of Korra. While perhaps not as consistent all the way through, it’s both in the spirit of the original while being very much it’s own thing as well. The themes and ideas I think you might find more interesting overall, as it adds many more layers to the world and the socio-political makeup of it. Plus the fights become even more inventive and incredible.

Y'all should definitely watch Korra! Very different than ATLA but imo just as good. It's veeeeeeery different, don't go in expecting ATLA Part 2, but the fighting is better, the music is better, Korra is a more engaging protagonist, and the villains are next level.

KORRA!!!

I was the one saying "Shang-Chi looked like Avatar" more than anyone! XD

It was so fun rewatching this series with you guys!! I agree that the ending doesn't wrap up everything perfectly but I think it does a great job in most areas. Every time I watch the finale I find it enjoyable. As a fan of this series, I never actually got around to watching the legend of kora... whoops lol. So if you do end up watching it, I'll for sure be there to see it for the first time along with you guys!

Arifur R

katara works in that plotline. so bizarre to say she doesn't.

I think now i have seen almost every reactor watching this show. Seeing the fianle always makes me tear up each time and iprobably have seen the finale for over 100 times including the reactions. For me a show is good if you love it when watching the first time and is amazing of you live it as much when rewatching. ATLA is for me one of the only shows that i can rewatch over and over infinitly without losing interest for most of the episodes. Therefore it has to be my favorite series i‘ve ever watched…

please please please watch legend of korra!

Simply Faded

Instead of Korra, you should watch the Chibi Shorts! Those were extras on the DVDs. They're cute and silly and can be found on YouTube now!

Nico Nightingale

This series is fantastic! I've only seen it somewhat recently as well. A friend of mine introduced me to the series a few months back and I'm so glad they did. I have really enjoyed seeing you guys react to this series and I highly recommend watching Korra also, it is well worth it. Keep up the great work! :)

Diana

One of the greatest series finale's of all time!!! The growth of characters, and animation, is utterly incredible. I don't know if perfect is the right word, but life doesn't just stop. So yes Toph's resolve with her parents, and Zuko's mom were left to be desired, but I love all the other character resolutions. The reason you probably loved the music so much is because they actually got a full orchestra to record the score for the finale. I actually have to recommend The Dragon Prince over Korra. I could never get past the first season of Korra, due to the differences in writing. But The Dragon Prince was created by the head writing team of ATLA, and I just feel the character work is much more authentically done.

William Tanner

You gotta do Korra, ATLA and DW were the only reasons I joined the patreon! It would suck to not watch Korra as well!

Alexis Fage

I never really got into Aang and Katara as a couple tbh 😖 imo Katara and Zuko would have been so much more interesting !! Like how Sokka in season 1 has all of these misogynistic ideas ingrained into him, and he ends up with a kyoshi warrior as his girlfriend. It shows growth and maturity on his part. Katara and Aang getting together did nothing for me it just felt like two siblings. That being said it is literally my only gripe with this show, it's one of my favorites !! So excited and happy that we've watched it together now!

Chaotic Cam

wait, where is The Ember Island Players? I was looking forward to watching your reaction. D:
