I find it interesting that the metahuman liberation ideology is written as villainous in the show. It highlights the common attitude in japanese culture, as they value conformity for the sake of community much more than we do in the west. In america we tend to value individual liberty more, and you can see this, for example, in marvel's civil war, where heroes take sides over opposition to a restriction of powers that could be compared to restrictions that exist in the MHA universe.

Curious was named that way because she says in the episode that she used to be a news reporter. That’s why she’s so fascinated with Toga’s story. She also seems like she was the PR person for the MLA. Toga/Shigiraki’s next level power ups in the face of life-threatening situations were pretty cool too.

Yes, TBH I find it difficult to see why the MLA are, in principle, wrong. It’s not using powers that is intrinsically wrong, it’s using them for the same things as would be illegal using only ‘natural’ human abilities. Attacking and injuring someone is wrong, whether done via hands, weapons or quirks. Stopping someone from falling over, as Uraraka did for Midoriya on the day of the entrance exam, should be fine (yet I’m not sure that it is under their existing law). We don’t really know the full story of how quirks are regulated under current law. Hero work is regulated, but to me that seems to be the same thing as regulating police work (just with a lot more innately dangerous people). But what about using a quirk for self defence? Midoriya and co were told off for attacking Stain. Now maybe Ida was wrong (although he inadvertently saved Native’s life), but were Midoriya and Shoto supposed to let their friend die? They were only just in time and could not have waited another second for the pro heroes. Uraraka wanted to help her parents. Could there not simply be a license like the one you would get for operating heavy machinery? Some quirks have altered their bodies (eg they have lizard faces or something). Those quirks cannot be switched off at all (short of AFO removing them)

Seems that all the MLA are succeeding in doing at the moment is causing the League if Villains to power up!
