John I wanna apologies before I watch this reaction, 🙏 I messed up! I gave you a clue to watch for the pineapple last week and I messed up the episodes, that clue was for next weeks ep, and this ep. is probably the worst in terms of pineapples in that there's non apparently.🙏😂

This is another episode I remember watching for the first time on TV when I first discovered this show, and I learned from Henry new stuff about the different types of criminals.😂The one of 2 running storylines of the show (one being Shawn as a fake psychic), the Shawn & Juliet story keeps adding new layers and can't wait for you to see it blossoming.😍 🍍Again, sorry for the mess up with the pineapple, didn't want you to feel bad again for not catching it, especially because this one had non, nobody online seems to have spoted one this ep, there might of been a shirt with a pineapple print in the store that got robbed, but nothing clear that can be confirmed. Fun tidbit: The prologue of this ep makes a connection with the ep from S2 ""Meat Is Murder, But Murder Is Also Murder" with the food critic, when Shawn goes and gets hired at the newsletter the critic worked at, he writes some horoscopes for all the characters, and the one he wrote for Henry was: "Sagittarius: Please return the BB gun you confiscated from your son in the second grade. P.S. You are a cranky-pants." ♐😄

Great reaction, and no worries, I thought you nailed your intro, John. This is one of my favorite episodes mainly because I totally ship Shawn and Juliet! The ending scene at the roller rink is so sweet and is full of nostalgic greatness, especially the song. I also agree Kirsten Nelson (chief Vick) is a great face actor, and can really let you know that she means business while also showing that she cares about her team. I was so excited when I saw this was the episode for today. Then I looked to see what was coming up next week, and I thought, yes that’s going to be such a great episode. Then I saw the one after that and thought, wow that’s a great episode, too! Season three is such a great season! There is absolutely a super cut of all Gus’ nicknames, of course it’s more fun once you’ve seen the whole show. It is one of the best bits throughout the show. It’s is fun to see how seamlessly he can go along with whatever Shawn throws out in those moments. I love the mystery aspect of this show, but I am realizing with this watch along that what I love most about this show is the chemistry between all the characters and their relationships with one another, the overall comedic nature of the show, especially the quick witty banter among all the characters (and between Shawn and Gus in particular), and, as I’ve said before, the pop culture references. It’s clear they had a great time making this show.

I always have fond memories of this episode because it introduced me to the best Flock of Seagulls song (fight me) in the final rink scene. I also love that scene in particular for how it really does show off their characters’ relationship so far. Shawn is firmly “I will never grow up, I am stuck in the 80’s” and Jules is “I find that childish gusto charming, but we have work to do.” Having one of their more-romantic-but-still-not-really moments be in a retro skate rink to an 80s synth song works on so many levels. And it’s such a beautiful capturing of that adolescent moment when two hands barely brushing against each other feels more intimate than anything.
