This is a good episode. Glad you liked it too. Sorry to hear about your water troubles. So. Cal has way too many people and it's just going to get harder to provide the water for that many, if the climate continues like this. Oregon isn't going to be giving you any more of ours. We need it now too! I was very frustrated with Sam this episode. He seemed overlay angry with Dean, regarding Benny. Given their past experiences, he should know that it's possible for a vampire to not feed on live humans. Plus, Benny helped Dean while he was in Purgatory. And was the reason Dean was able to get out! That alone should have had Sam feeling more amenable. I didn't understand it, but figured it maybe was tied up in Sam's overall angsty feelings around Amelia, Dean's return, etc. Sam calling the other hunter was a really bad idea, especially if Sam didn't trust Benny. Sam had to know that Benny would be too much for Martin. Then Sam doesn't even give Dean a chance to tell him what happened. Sam gets upset when Dean jumps the gun and doesn't listen, so you'd expect him to not do the same thing. It's like when he got really mad in season 7 over Dean killing Amy Pond, then hesitating to kill his own daughter, so sam killed her. So frustrating!

I honestly think the whole situation with Benny reminded Sam of Ruby... Dean's reason for trusting Benny was that he saved his life, that was Sam's reason for trusting Ruby. By getting Dean out of Purgatory, Benny got himself out too. There was an easy possibility that it was all a ploy to come back to life and that he was just using Dean. I know that wasn't the case, but how is Sam supposed to know that? So I can understand him needing to keep an eye on him and make sure he's not going to kill anyone. Martin was a bad choice, that's true. But the whole situation is very similar to that of Sam's past with Ruby, and I can definitely understand why he'd be so wary of Benny...

Martin was in the season 5 episode Sam, Interrupted. It was one that took place in a psych ward and Dean is having conversations with an imaginary therapist about his guilt over Jo and Ellen's deaths. Also the infamous "Pudding!" scene took place in that episode. Anyway, love this episode and love Benny! Glad you both enjoyed this one!

this is a good episode, one thing though Sam only left Martin because DEAN made him believe that another woman he loved was in danger because of him, also the only reason Martin was able to do what he did because of what Dean did so its really all on Dean, Sam also wasn't in the wrong for having Matin watch Benny because he is a Vampire who didn't just help Dean in purgatory because he is a good guy, he helped him because Dean was his way out of purgatory, also Dean is very much contradicting himself by not just killing Benny because the reason he gave for killing Amelia was she's a monster and will eventually kill again so the same thing applies for Benny

also the Burner is just Dean bought a burner phone and changed Emilias number in Sams phone to the burners number, and most people don't look at the number when they are calling someone who is programmed in their phone, they just push the name
