Maybe one of these days haha, but right now we can only really keep everything moving smoothly at a once-a-week pace. We did do 2x a week during Season 5 (partly due to circumstances allowing & partly due to its being a particularly crucial season haha), though not sure when we'll be able to do that again as of now, unfortunately. Sorry about that!!

Couldn't figure out where to put these so imma just put them here: you should totally react to the show "vikings" because i love it and also react to the show "peaky blinders" because it Jensen Ackles' favourite show.

We are now post-post Kripke, as he was still very much involved in S6 and for some of S7. I just re watched the first SPN Paleyfest from 2006, and Bob Singer explained how he and Kripke use different paths to end up at the same destination. Kripke uses structure and plot to drive the characters and Singer prefers to use character dynamics to drive the plot. Carver may be the showrunner, but Singer drives the bus for the next couple of seasons. Neither is good or bad, they're just different methods...and sometimes it's very noticeable. Either way, there are plenty of good episodes ahead.

I know that Kripke is given (and deserves) the credit for Seasons 1-5. However, he himself gives a lot of credit to Singer. It was Singer who saw the benefit of emphasising characterisation over just plot and I think it was at least partly that that gave the show what it needed to succeed. Some people don't like his later contributions to the show. I think maybe he just needed to collaborate with the right person to keep the structure tight.

I love love love this ep! As others said before, it is very much in Dean's character to take the blame/responsibility for anything and everything. And since he still believes everyone will eventually leave him (I believe some of his anger at Sam this season very much stems from fear of abandonment) and he isn't worth staying for, he prefers to believe he let Cas down and failed to save him then acknowledge that Cas decided to stay behind (or, in other words, leave him)
