Yey - Cas is back again! So we've had Castiel, Jimmy, Godstiel, Absentstiel, Emmanuel and now Madstiel. I don't think Cas is at peace at all. He's retreating from reality. I love that enigmatic game of Sorry. One minute you think Cas is trying to apologize, but then Dean says "no, you're just playing sorry". Dean is not forgiving and forgetting at all. He loves his friend, but he is so not over it. Agree Meg and Kevin are a delight. Great supporting characters. It was an interesting choice to pair Sam with Cas and Dean with Kevin to produce something new. Sam and Cas don't get a lot of alone time on screen and it was a nice conversation between them. And I think Dean is exactly what Kevin needs. Sam would have cosseted him. Dean is all down to earth reality. I think that good on-screen fighting didn't become a "thing" until Arrow and Daredevil. I agree it's a bit frustrating that the fights tend to be a bit unimaginative (and, like you say, ignore superpowers), but I guess you can't have everything. Meg and Ruby are very differnet. Ruby was always claiming to be the good guy. Meg is not. She admits her motives are totally selfish. I think that makes her trustworthy unless/until she's better off turning against them.

Ngl. Even the end of supernatural season 7 is a bit...weird and lacking. But we almost made it to season 8! It doesn’t immediately get great again but slowly improves and even just by the end of season 8, it’s honestly my favorite season finale of the whole show. There’s such a huge jump. I know y’all were only kidding that you’re done with the show 😂 but you’re almost there! Almost back to to being one of the best shows you’ve ever watched. And starting from season 8 onwards, honestly the show kind of reinvents self every 5 years, but moving on there’s so much history and weight behind the main characters. A lot of things you talked about wanting to see happen with Cas will be addressed. Season 8 also introduces a lot of new characters as well as filling out some more of the old ones. Also can’t wait for y’all to see some of the cinematic choices in season 8. You’ll know what I’m talking about when you see it 😜😜 My only other note is to request you please please react to gag reel for this season!! It’s one of the best one. This season is weird and all over the place but you can see what fun they had filming it! It’s literally why it kept going after this season because the cast and creators still loved the show and they literally made the fans still be interested after it had seemed the show had done everything it could do. The gag reel is so hilarious and features more Misha Collins who I swear is the weirdest and funniest person on the planet

Good episode and great reaction! Nice to see the return of Cas and Meg. Kevin, played by Osric Chau, is a delight! John, you literally read my mind when you answered Devon Sawa for the white kid in a 90s teen movie. I had a huge crush on him back in the day. Anyway, can't wait for the rest of your season 7 reactions and season 8, which is one of my fave seasons.

Crazy Cas brings me such mixed emotions, since he is really funny, but also clearly Cas retreating from the reality of his situation. He is so nervous of doing more harm, and is basically in personal denial of it all, so that he wouldn't break down from crushing guilt. The way that is portrayed through Dean's struggle with how to interact with him is really good. The next couple seasons are a lot better than this one, we promise. 8-11 build upon each other really well.
