I love this episode mainly because I’m a sucker for when there isn’t actually a bad guy or the “monster” isn’t the actual bad guy. “The Beast Below” sounds so ominous, but really he was just a compassionate star whale. I also just love how Amy Pond is basically the companion to really understand who the Doctor is the quickest. Even if other companions arguably had better instant chemistry she sees through to his core personality the quickest. And sees it’s his kindest and respect for life and maybe his sadness that are at the center of all the quirkiness and bravado.

Is there a reason for the reaction highlights are being cut down so much? You guys made the joke at the beginning of the video, but this one is still significantly shorter than all the pre-s5 reactions :D It's not a big deal, but I do find myself for the first time missing certain scenes I was looking forward to seeing reactions to.

Great Reactions/Analysis guys, wouldn't mind more of the reactions though, watching the watchalong from the last episode made me realized the editor left a fair bit out.

There seems to be a lot of cutaways and text on screen and sound effects and quirky zooms and silly distorted faces in this edit. To me it was pretty distracting when I was trying to focus more on the episode and their reaction to it. And yeah, I felt the edit as a whole being extra short comparatively as well with a few scenes I'd've liked to have seen.

A great follow up to the best series opener. The moment 11 snaps at the humans at the end gets me everytime. I love Matt's performance. 8/10

I know you were kinda joking Greg, but I’m 100% with you on that. Matt Smith is my favorite doctor through and through. I enjoy David, but he’s just not the same he’s a close 3 for me. But funnily enough, I actually hated Matt in the eleventh hour the first time I watched it because I was so attached to Tennant 😂 But now the eleventh hour is one of my favorite episodes. And Matt quickly became my favorite after I got over Tennant being gone.
