The girl who played Emma was the creepy af little girl, Missy, in the season 1 episode The Benders. I don’t know of anything else she’s ever done, though.

What are you talking about? The best part of this episode was the sex scene. Obviously! I'm always here for watching Dean have sex. This episode doesn't impress me very much. I feel like John in this one. It could have been better, but it could also have been worse. So there were some good bits between the brothers. I think the Amy/Emma thing shows why it's a good thing the brothers have each other. So when they are too emotionally involved to have good reason, the other one can come take over.

Really looking forward to the next episode. It really is a classic.

On my own rewatches, I skip this episode. The Amazonian side of the plot just drags, from listening to the professor drone on about them, Dean sitting in the car on stakeout just watching, and then we have to watch the girls go through their ritual. Just checked the list of upcoming episodes. Can it just be May already 😕 Well, I will still be watching with you regardless, just to see your perspectives

Yeah, this is kind of a middle of the road episode for me too. Structurally it is by no means bad, but I do think it was a pretty messed up thing to put Dean in the middle of the problem. I know it happens often, and is usually pretty funny when it happens, but in caring for character's well being, I have to hate the writers for putting this degree of trauma onto Dean when he is barely holding himself together already.

Just joined the patreon for the SPN reactions and catching up. In my opinion, season 7 is by far the weakest but there are some gem episodes in season 7 and the writing does improve once season 8 hits. Seasons 10-15 were pretty good.

Difference is, Dean was prepared to kill Emma. He didn't want to - he wanted to give her a chance to be other than a monster. Once she'd killed, it would be all over with him, same as it was with Amy. Fortunately though, he didn't have to. Sam stepped up and did it for him.
