I'm so glad you're reacting to and enjoying this show! It's a perennial favorite and this episode in particular is on my "need something light and fun" playlist of things to watch. If it isn't already in the cards you owe it to yourself to watch (and I'd love to see you react to them as well) the gag reels as you finish the seasons. You really see how much comradery and fun everyone making this show had.

Fun Fact James Roday directed and helped write this episode. I watched the Audio Commentary and he wanted it to be much darker but wasn't able to get as much as he wanted past the studio. Still it's a great episode.

I'm so glad you loved it! I did forgot for a minute that this was a halloween/scary themed episode and that you love those sort of things, so this ep had that plus! This ep was the best example of what this show is, a show lead by characters and in this ep, all of had something to show off! And I'm very glad that this show is working, I was a little unsure at first how this show is gonna work as a reaction, clearly it is a different flavor to what a usual "reaction material" show is, but from what I've seen from you John, the patreons in the comments, and the views, it seems like it's working pretty well.😊 You should check out the S1 blooper & deleted scenes reel, it will give you a glimps into their "process": yt.com/watch?v=8rGesgIfOd8 Fun tidbit: Regarding that scene where Gus distracts the housekeeper and uses Mrs. Pickles as the story, in ep 3 Shaw calls his office to get him out of work, and the line was something like: "Mrs. Pickles had an accident and it's at the animal hospital"...when all his co-workers were "horrified" that Gus doesn't care about his cat, now when Gus finally goes outside, Shawn was waiting on Gus' car and he told him that next time he'll use that excuse, "Mrs. Pickles is going to have kittens" which is what Gus mentioned to the houskeeper. It's just a funny little call back.😂

I love that the could do a Scooby/SPN episode SO WELL, it's just fun and a go-to episode for me!

The first time I watched this episode I got really hung up on the cost of all the candles and the time it would take to light them. Then the fire risk and how well did the killer know the building if a fire broke out and she had to escape. Not my best suspend disbelief for entertainment moment. I am so excited for the next episode. It is one of the many I am eager to see your reaction. I think you will laugh a lot.
