2023-06-14 21:38:42 I noticed on this last rewatch the connection between Castiel and Sam. Dean said (either this episode or the last one) to Cas that "you've been like a brother to me" and here we have Dean's exact struggle with Sam from S5 playing here with Cas --> Castiel is doing something dangerous and controversial because it's the only way he can become strong enough to defeat an even bigger evil. With Cas, it's consuming the souls from Purgatory and dealing with Crowley to do it, with Sam it was drinking demon blood and dealing with Ruby.

my memories of the end of s6 are so vague... i think i'm discovering i might have just skipped some of these episodes when i first watched the show lol.

Love your reaction to the episode. Your shock at realizing their memories were completely wiped, was priceless. Watching those ending scenes where Dean is holding back the tears, first with Cas, then Lisa/Ben and finally Sam. I just cannot watch Jensen Ackles performance here and not get emotional. Strap on your party hats for next week. Season Enders are always fun. And don’t forget at the beginning of the next episode, go ahead and watch “The Road So Far” opening recap of the season. It won’t have any spoilers.

I love watching y'all so much! Cas and Dean definitely break my heart during this season, as they are so good together and I hate them having to go against each other. Ben and Lisa definitely took the Winchester out of me too!
