the author himself has said they are canon, this being made more clear by a recent manga chapter, its just that they wont be referenced as much in the main story because it would spoil the movies for those who haven't watched it, but elements from them can still appear like Deku's mid-gauntlets in Season 6 being from Melissa from the 1st movie or Nine making a panel appeareance in chapter 222 while Shigaraki talks about what he wants to destroy in the My Villain Academia arc, then after the arc ends in ch 240 the doctor tells him to bring him something before giving him more power, this something would be Nine since we see the league moving him at the start of the movie before he escapes.

since you guys have watched the last few seasons this explanation won't be a problem, from what I understand because OFA itself is sentient and the vestiges of the past users can interact with Deku and the quirk, first time being against Shinso, they made it possible for the quirk to stay with Deku after the fight and maybe made Bakugo forget, since All Might is thanking them after the fight

Nope! No spoilers if you watch the dub, although you will see some things that won’t make a ton of sense until season 5. The sub reveals one thing, though.

Watched it before it got blocked — I was so excited for you guys to watch this! I’m pretty sure I wasn’t breathing for the last 15 minutes. Lol I agree with your criticisms of Nine. I liked his design and the voice actor’s performance, but I felt like I needed a bit more from him. But then again, since he was only used for this movie I can understand that. Deku and Bakugo’s rivalry/friendship is one of my favorite aspects of the show and their dynamic here was honestly everything I could have hoped for. And as for your questions, I think they might get answered in S5! Which btw I hear is premiering in March next year. Get hype!

As you can probably tell this isnt canon to the official story. Its still fun and has a great moment with them both using OFA. But this is apparently what Horikoshi(mangaka) was originally going to do for the end of the story, until of course he came up with something else he preferred.
